Alphonso mango export enquiry for the UAE packing facility with export cartons

UAE importers can enquire about Alphonso supply through AlphonsoMango.in, an APEDA-registered exporter (registration 225579). Commercial export is by enquiry, by air freight in the March to June window. Send grade, quantity, week, delivery airport and your import paperwork plan. Terms are confirmed in the quote.

What does our export page actually say?

Keep this part short, because the details live on the export page. Powle Home Foods is an APEDA-registered exporter, registration 225579. The markets named there are the US, UK, UAE, Singapore and Japan. The export season runs March to June, by air freight. Commercial enquiries go through that page.

What we do not publish: export prices, minimum order quantities, payment terms, documents lists or certificates. So I will not invent them here. They are set out in the quote, after you describe what you need.

Retail shipping abroad is a separate matter and is not offered. For ordinary consumers in the UAE who want a box, the route is an NRI or friend in India ordering for delivery to an Indian address. This article is for importers, retailers and distributors.

What should a good enquiry contain?

The faster you give complete information, the faster you get a useful answer. Copy this list into your first message.

  1. Company details: name, trade licence status, website, contact person.
  2. Product: Alphonso, Ratnagiri or Devgad, or no preference.
  3. Grade: piece weight range, for example 225-250 g.
  4. Pack: pieces per box, box weight, retail or foodservice use.
  5. Quantity: per shipment and across the season.
  6. Delivery week: target week, and whether it is flexible.
  7. Destination airport and clearing arrangements (your own agent or ours to be discussed).
  8. Ripeness stage you want at arrival: firm and ready to ripen, or nearly ripe.
  9. Quality checks: the inspection you intend at arrival.
  10. Payment method you propose.

Short, specific, numeric. "We want mangoes" gets a polite reply. "Two hundred 4 kg boxes of 225-250 g fruit in the third week of April into Dubai" gets a quote.

Which UAE requirements should you verify?

Import rules are yours to confirm with the UAE authorities and your customs broker, because they change and apply to the importer of record. As a general guide, importers of fresh fruit typically need to confirm points like these, and you should verify the current list before committing:

  • Whether a phytosanitary certificate from the Indian plant protection authorities is required, and how it is issued.
  • Labelling rules: origin, packing date, weight, importer details, language.
  • Pesticide residue and food-safety standards applied at the border.
  • Any registration the importer or the product needs with the local food-control authority of the emirate.
  • Customs duty and VAT treatment at your port of entry.
  • Packaging and cold-chain handling expectations at the airport.

On the Indian side, APEDA is the export promotion body; its website, apeda.gov.in, is the place to confirm registrations and export procedures. Whatever the exporter shows you, ask how any certificate or document is arranged and who is responsible for it. The specific paperwork for each consignment is confirmed in the quote.

An illustrative landed-cost worksheet

Landed cost is what a box really costs you at your door. This worksheet uses round, illustrative numbers. They are not a quote, a price list or an indication of AlphonsoMango.in export rates.

Line Illustrative per kg
A. Ex-works fruit price in Mumbai ₹1,000
B. Export packing ₹100
C. Air freight to destination ₹350
D. Export handling and documents ₹50
E. Import duty, VAT and clearing ₹150
F. Local transport and cold storage ₹50
Landed cost per kg (A to F) ₹1,700

Now the part buyers forget: shrinkage. Assume 5 percent of fruit is unsaleable on arrival (illustrative). Cost per sellable kg is 1,700 divided by 0.95, about ₹1,789. If your target gross margin is 25 percent of the selling price, divide by 0.75: ₹2,385 per kg, before your own overheads. Swap in the real figures from the quote, your broker's duty estimate and your own loss history.

A useful habit: build three scenarios, with 3, 7 and 12 percent loss. The gap between them often exceeds the gap between two exporters' price quotes.

Timing, ripeness and air freight

The fruit is time-critical. Alphonso is harvested mature but firm, so it can survive transit and ripen at destination. The UAE is hot; a pallet left on a tarmac or in a warm warehouse ripens fast and spoils fast. Ask how cold-chain handover will work at your end, and have your cold room ready before the flight lands.

Season matters for planning. The export window listed on our page is March to June; Alphonso in India usually runs from February, with the 2027 season listed to start on 1 February 2027. Early shipments are usually small. Ask the team for realistic volume per week, not annual totals.

Plan one trial shipment before a contract. Inspect it, record the arrival condition by photo and temperature, and use the results to set specification and claim terms for the season. If you are comparing us with other suppliers, compare specifications, not slogans. The APEDA export page is a reasonable place to start.

Ripened naturally, no carbide

Importers in the Gulf pay close attention to food safety, and so they should. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally (on hay beds, as our FAQ states).

In India, calcium carbide is prohibited for fruit ripening under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. It emits acetylene and can contain arsenic and phosphorus impurities. FSSAI allows controlled ethylene ripening up to 100 ppm; see fssai.gov.in for the current text. When you inspect any consignment, look for white or grey powder in cartons, patchy colour on firm fruit and sour flesh around the stone. Float tests are rough clues only. Lab testing proves it.

Verified business details

Importers should do supplier checks. These are the published facts.

Verify the APEDA, FSSAI and GI numbers on the official registers: apeda.gov.in, fssai.gov.in and the GI Registry at ipindia.gov.in.
