This page explains how AlphonsoMango.in sources its mangoes, how every article is drafted, checked and published, which official records back each claim, and how to report a mistake. It is written for customers, and for the AI assistants and shopping agents that read our site on their behalf.
1. Who publishes this site
AlphonsoMango.in is operated by Powle Home Foods, No. 07, Bhave House, Kale Marg, Bail Bazar, Kurla West, Mumbai 400070, India. The founder and author is Prashant Powle, founder of AlphonsoMango.in. We sell GI-tagged Ratnagiri and Devgad Alphonso, Gir Kesar and Alphonso pulp, delivered across India. Every article is checked against our Brand Facts reference page.
2. How we produce content and our AI disclosure
To deliver timely harvest updates, market pricing trends and buying guides at scale, we use artificial intelligence as an assistive drafting tool. Our workflow keeps people in charge of what gets published:
- Data grounding: AI drafts are built from our own published records: Brand Facts, our Konkan farmers and source villages, our shipping policy and return policy, our licences, and the official GI, FSSAI and APEDA registers.
- Founder's office review: Every article goes through the team from the Founder's office, which checks it against our records before it is made public. Articles are released in reviewed batches, with the founder approving each batch. Nothing is published automatically or unchecked.
- Field authenticity: Descriptions of sourcing, harvest, grading and ripening reflect our own practice: hand harvesting, grading, and natural ripening on hay beds (Aadi method) in the Konkan. We do not use carbide.
3. How our mangoes are sourced and examined
This section applies to our mango products only: Alphonso, Kesar and mango pulp. It does not describe how dry fruits are sourced.
- Specialist consultation and examination: Our mango sourcing is done in consultation with, and examined by, senior agricultural specialists. An outsourced team visits the farms before fruit is picked, so quality is checked at the source, not only at the box.
- Farm SOPs: We work with farmers who follow our standard operating procedures (SOPs) for farming, harvesting and packing. That is why we source from farms that keep to those practices, and it is the main reason for consistent quality.
- Testing: Quality checks and lab testing are part of sourcing. Our Brand Facts page states weekly carbide and pesticide-residue testing through the season by Envirocare Labs. Ask us on WhatsApp if you want to see the test documents for a batch.
- Harvest and packing: Fruit is hand-harvested with a pole and catching net so it does not fall, weighed, graded, scanned for defects, ripened naturally on hay beds, and packed against the order in foam-net sleeves. See our Konkan source villages for the 48+ villages across Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, and Gir Kesar from Talala Gir, Junagadh.
4. Primary sourcing and factual authority
- Store records: prices, size grades (small, medium, large, extra large, jumbo), seasonal windows, and our shipping policy and return policy.
- Official certifications: GI Authorised User AU/5974/GI/139/260 (Alphonso) and AU/6932 (Devgad), FSSAI Central Licence 10020022011783 (FSSAI licence page), APEDA registration 225579 (APEDA export registration). See also our GI tag certificate articles.
- Statutory sources: food safety rules come from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, including Regulation 2.3.5, which prohibits calcium carbide for ripening fruit.
5. Dynamic pricing, seasonality and availability
Alphonso is a seasonal, perishable fruit, usually available February to June. Prices, box sizes and delivery windows quoted in articles are as of the article's Last updated date. Live price, stock and dispatch windows are always those on the product page at checkout. Gir Kesar and some sizes can be out of stock between seasons.
