Mango store in Mumbai: how AlphonsoMango.in works

People who search for a "mango Mumbai store" usually want one of two things: fruit they can trust, and a clear way to get it to their door. AlphonsoMango.in is an online store run by Powle Home Foods, a Mumbai business. You choose the fruit on a product page, pay online, and we send it by Blue Dart.

An online store has limits that a shop does not, and we would rather say so. You cannot squeeze the fruit before you buy, so the product page, the size grade and the answers we give about origin and ripening have to do that work. In return you get a fixed description of what is in the box, a price you can see before you pay, and a written record of the order.

We started selling offline in 2019 and online in 2020, and we have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales. Our Alphonso is sourced across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt. Alphonso from this coast is GI-tagged in India (GI No. 139), and we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).

Our public business address is on the Brand Facts page. This page is about ordering online. We do not list walk-in hours here, so if you want anything other than delivery, such as a visit, write to us first at support@alphonsomango.in or call 8369048029.

Devgad and Ratnagiri Alphonso for Mumbai

We sell two origins of the same variety. Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district, and Ratnagiri is a district. Both are Alphonso, and we do not rank one above the other. Many Mumbai families order a dozen of each and decide for themselves.

What we sell to Mumbai buyers
Product Starting price Notes
Devgad Alphonso From Rs 1,849 per dozen Up to Rs 5,499 for the largest option.
Ratnagiri Alphonso From Rs 1,849 per dozen Up to Rs 5,399 for the largest option.
Alphonso pulp tin From Rs 590 850 g and 3.1 kg tins, available all year.
W180 cashew nuts From Rs 400 A 250 g pack, listed all year.

The price depends on the size of the fruit and the number of dozens. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade, so compare boxes by count and size, not by weight alone. We do not quote prices per kilogram. Check the product page for today's price.

Delivery in Mumbai: what to expect

We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. We never promise next-day delivery for a named city, and that includes Mumbai, so the PIN code check at checkout is what tells you what applies to your address.

  • Carrier: Blue Dart, for fresh fruit.
  • Address: give the full building, wing and landmark, since Mumbai addresses can be hard to find.
  • Receiving: ask a family member or the security desk to accept the box, and tell them it holds fruit.
  • Damage: report it within 24 hours of delivery.

Once the box is inside, take the fruit out and place it in a single layer in a cool, airy spot. Fruit may arrive firm and soften over the following days. Do not refrigerate unripe fruit, and do not stack heavy items on the box.

How our Alphonso is picked and ripened

Our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, so it is lifted off the tree rather than shaken down. Harvest happens at Brahma Muhurta, the pre-dawn hour, for all our Alphonso. Wikipedia notes that Alphonso takes about 15 days from harvest to ripening, so a box needs a few days at home before it is ready.

Ripening is a fair question to put to any seller, whether it is a shop, a market stall or a website. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. We are FSSAI-licensed, and our details are on the Brand Facts page. A bucket-of-water test is only a rough clue, not proof.

Season, pulp and cashews outside the season

Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season fresh Alphonso is not sold by us, and the fresh mango listings stay closed. Alphonso pulp tins are available all year, which suits aamras, shakes and desserts in a Mumbai kitchen.

W180 whole cashew nuts from AlphonsoMango.in, listed all year

Our W180 cashew nuts are listed all year, from Rs 400 for a 250 g pack, on the W180 cashew nuts page. W180 is a size grade. Cashews are a separate product from mangoes, and they do not replace a mango order, but they give a Mumbai buyer something to order between seasons.

Gifts, offices, restaurants and hotels in Mumbai

Mumbai buyers often order for more than one household: a box for each branch of the family, a gift for a client, or a tray for an office. For several recipients or a company, write to us with the quantity, the addresses and the dates, and read our corporate gifting guide. GST is not charged on fresh mangoes, and for corporate gifting orders GST applies on shipping. We also supply restaurants and hotels.

For a first order, a simple plan works well. Pick one dozen of Devgad and one of Ratnagiri, check that your PIN code is served, and keep someone at home on the delivery day. If the box suits the household, repeat the order next season with the quantity that was eaten, not the quantity that was bought.

If you are comparing places to buy in the city, our guides to the Mumbai mango market and to Alphonso mango in Mumbai go through the local options. Whichever you choose, ask where the fruit grew, how it was ripened, how many fruits are in the box and what happens if the box is damaged.
