Mango Website an Online Shop - AlphonsoMango.in

A good mango website tells you the variety, the place, the ripening method and the licence behind the fruit. AlphonsoMango.in sells Ratnagiri and Devgad Alphonso by the dozen, plus Kesar, pulp and seeds. Check these details on any mango website before you pay.

What a mango website should tell you

Mangoes are fragile, seasonal and easy to mislabel, so a mango website has more to prove than most online shops. A photo of a golden fruit tells you nothing. The useful information is written down: which variety, grown where, ripened how, sold by whom, and how it reaches you.

We are Powle Home Foods in Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. Here is the checklist we would use ourselves if we were buying from a stranger, and what you can find on our site for each point.

Checklist for any mango website
Question to ask What a clear answer looks like
Which variety? A named variety, such as Alphonso (Hapus), Kesar or Pairi, with the unit of sale stated, usually a dozen.
Grown where? A place, not just "Konkan". Ours is the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt, across 48 villages.
GI paperwork? A certificate number you can read. Ours is GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).
Ripened how? A plain statement of the method, not silence.
Food licence? An FSSAI licence for the seller.
Delivery? A named courier and a PIN code check before you pay.

Our Brand Facts page collects these details in one place, and our editorial standards explain how we write the guides on this blog.

Who runs this mango website

AlphonsoMango.in is run by Powle Home Foods, Mumbai, and founded by Prashant Powle. Our first sales were offline in 2019, and we have sold online since 2020. We have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales. The author page for Prashant Powle says more about the person behind the site.

Alphonso mangoes from Ratnagiri and Devgad villages on AlphonsoMango.in

We source Alphonso across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt on the Konkan coast. Ratnagiri is a district, and Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district. Both grow the same variety, so we do not rank one above the other. Harvesting is done before dawn at Brahma Muhurta, and fruit is cut by hand with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, so the tree is not shaken and the fruit is not dropped.

Alphonso from this belt is GI-tagged in India under GI No. 139, and we hold the GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260. Our guide to the Alphonso mango GI tag explains what the tag covers. We are also an FSSAI-licensed seller.

What you can buy on our mango website

Fresh mangoes are seasonal, so the range changes through the year. These are the products behind the site, with "from" prices that may change. Check each product page for today's price.

The full list is on our mango collection. Not every item on the site is a mango. When fresh fruit is out of season, many buyers use us for pantry staples.

Flax seeds buy online from AlphonsoMango.in mango website

Our flax seeds and roasted pumpkin seeds are listed all year. Check the product page for the current price. We also list cashews, dates and other dry fruits. Browse the dry fruits collection if you want them in the same order.

How to compare listings on a mango website

Price is where mango websites differ most, and where comparison goes wrong. Alphonso is usually sold by the dozen, and the fruit in a dozen varies with grade. A dozen of smaller fruit and a dozen of larger fruit are different products, even when both are called "1 dozen". On our site a dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade, and the price rises with the grade.

  • Compare the same grade. Look for the stated weight range of each fruit, not just the box size.
  • Compare the same origin. A listing that says only "Alphonso" without a place is not the same as one that names Ratnagiri or Devgad.
  • Check what is in the price. Ask whether delivery is included, and read the delivery message at checkout.
  • Note the season. A site selling fresh Alphonso well outside February to June is worth questioning.

If you are buying for a family function or an office, write to us with your quantity, city and date. For gifts, see our gifting page and our guide to corporate gifting with Alphonso.

Ripening, delivery and damage reports

We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. Ethylene up to 100 ppm is the permitted alternative. Whatever mango website you use, ask how the fruit was ripened. A bucket-of-water test at home is only a rough clue, not proof.

We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. We do not promise a delivery day for any named city, because it depends on the PIN code and the courier route.

Open the box on the day it arrives. If anything is damaged, report it within 24 hours of delivery by writing to support@alphonsomango.in or calling 8369048029. For the practical details, see our delivery period guide and our shipping charges guide.

When the mango website has fresh fruit

Alphonso is harvested about February to June, and the best supply runs from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season we do not sell fresh Alphonso, because the trees give one crop a year. If a site offers "fresh Alphonso" in October, ask where it came from.

Alphonso pulp tins are available all year, so you can still order the flavour out of season. Our mango season guide gives the months in more detail, and the guide to ordering Alphonso online walks through checkout.
