Mango online in Thane: what we send
Thane sits right next to Mumbai, where we are based. We are Powle Home Foods, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. Our fruit travels from the Konkan coast to our Mumbai base and then to your door by courier. For a Thane household that already knows the Mumbai mango markets, the difference is simple: you choose the variety and size on a screen, and the fruit arrives packed and labelled.

We sell two kinds of mango to Thane. Alphonso, also called Hapus, comes from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt and sells by the dozen. Gir Kesar is the saffron-coloured mango of Gujarat. Both are packed in courier boxes, and neither is sold outside its season. You can see both on our mango collection.
Ordering for a Thane flat, society or office
Most Thane orders go to apartment complexes, from Ghodbunder Road and Majiwada to Hiranandani Estate, Kopri, Naupada, Vartak Nagar and Kalwa. A few habits make delivery smoother in a gated society.
- Give the full tower and flat details. Couriers lose time in large complexes when the wing is missing.
- Tell the security desk. Many societies stop couriers at the gate unless the resident has said a parcel is coming.
- Use a mobile number that is switched on. The courier may call before arrival.
- Do not leave fruit at the gate. Ask a neighbour or family member to collect it on the day.
We do not promise a delivery day for any named locality. We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. Enter your own Thane PIN code and read the message the checkout shows before you pay.
If you are looking for a mango festival or exhibition in Thane, dates and venues change from year to year, and the organisers' own notices are the place to check. This page is for ordering fruit online.
Alphonso for Thane: Devgad and Ratnagiri
Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district, and Ratnagiri is a district. Both lie on the Konkan coast, and both grow the same Alphonso variety, so we do not rank one above the other. Pick by grade and budget. Our fruit comes from across 48 villages of the belt and is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, so the tree is not shaken and the fruit is not dropped.

Alphonso from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt is GI-tagged in India (GI No. 139). For Alphonso, we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139). Our guide to the Alphonso mango GI tag explains what the registry record covers.
Alphonso sells from Rs 1,849 per dozen, and the largest Ratnagiri option goes up to Rs 5,399. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. Smaller grades suit eating at home. Larger grades suit gifts. Check the product page for today's price, because it can change. You can go straight to the Devgad Alphonso page or the Ratnagiri Alphonso page.
Gir Kesar for Thane
Gir Kesar is a different mango with a different character. It is said to have been grown in 1931 by the Junagadh Wazir Sale Bhai, and to have been known as Kesar since 1934, when the Nawab of Junagadh remarked on its orange pulp. Many Gujarati families in Thane look for it every year.

Our Kesar is priced at Rs 999 for a half dozen and Rs 1,699 for a dozen. See the Kesar mango page for the current price and availability, and read our guide to buying Kesar mangoes online.
If you cannot decide, compare them by use. Alphonso is the choice for eating plain and for aamras. Kesar is a good pick for people who want a lighter, saffron-orange fruit. Many families order both and compare. Ask the same questions of any Kesar seller as of an Alphonso seller: which place, how it was ripened, and what the FSSAI licence number is.
How the fruit is ripened, and what to do on arrival
We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller, and our details are on the Brand Facts page.
Open the box on the day it arrives and check the fruit. If anything is damaged, report it within 24 hours of delivery by writing to support@alphonsomango.in or calling 8369048029. Keep the mangoes at room temperature, away from direct sun, and let them soften on their own. Do not refrigerate unripe fruit, because cold slows ripening and can dull the flavour.
- Ripe signs: a sweet fragrance near the stalk and a slight give near the shoulder.
- Once soft, eat the mango soon, or chill it briefly.
Thane is warm and humid through most of the mango months, so ripening can move quickly. Check the fruit every day from the day it arrives, rather than counting days on the calendar, and keep it out of a closed, sunny balcony.
No single look or smell proves how a mango was ripened, and a bucket-of-water test is only a rough clue, not proof. Our guide to ripening Alphonso at home goes through the steps.
Season, and what to do when fresh fruit is out
Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season we do not sell fresh Alphonso, because the trees give one crop a year. Alphonso pulp tins are available all year, from Rs 590, and suit aamras, kulfi and milkshakes. See the Alphonso mango pulp tin and our aamras recipe.
On nutrition, 100 g of raw mango provides about 36 mg of vitamin C, roughly 40% of the Daily Value. Mango also carries natural sugars, so anyone managing a health condition should ask their doctor or dietitian how much suits them.
