The best mangoes in Bangalore depend on how you eat them. Many buyers choose Alphonso, called Hapus in Maharashtra, for its rich, creamy pulp, and we also list Kesar. We deliver by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Orders received before 1 PM are dispatched the same day.
What makes a mango the best

People in Bangalore ask me which mango is the best, and I always answer with a question: what do you want to do with it? A mango for eating by hand, a mango for aamras, and a mango to give to a relative are three different jobs. Taste is also personal. I run AlphonsoMango.in from Mumbai, and Alphonso is the fruit I know best, so I will say plainly that this page is about the varieties we sell and not a ranking of every mango in Karnataka.
Alphonso is described as rich, creamy and non-fibrous, which is why it works so well for aamras and for eating plain. Fruits generally weigh 150 to 300 g. Alphonso from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt is GI-tagged in India (GI No. 139).
Mangoes we deliver to Bangalore
| Option | What it is | Price on our site |
|---|---|---|
| Ratnagiri Alphonso | Hapus from Ratnagiri district, Konkan coast | From Rs 1,849 per dozen, up to Rs 5,399 |
| Devgad Alphonso | Hapus from Devgad taluka, Sindhudurg district | From Rs 1,849 per dozen |
| Kesar | A separate mango grown in Gujarat | From Rs 999 per box |
| Pairi | Pairi mango, also written payari | 1 dozen, Rs 2,799 |
| Alphonso Mango Pulp Tin | Alphonso pulp in 850 g and 3.1 kg tins | From Rs 590, all year |
These are "from" prices on the live store and can change, so check the product page for the price of the size you want. We sell by the dozen or by the box and not by the kilo. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade, so a per-kilo figure would mislead you. There is no GST on fresh mangoes, and the invoice shows this.
Ratnagiri is a district, and Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district. Both grow the same Alphonso variety. I do not rank one above the other, and I suggest you choose on size and budget. We source across 55 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt. Our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, and harvest is done at Brahma Muhurta, before dawn. We hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139), and the details are on our Brand Facts page.

Kesar is a different mango. It is said to have been grown in 1931 by the Junagadh Wazir Sale Bhai, and is said to have been known as Kesar since 1934, when the Nawab of Junagadh remarked on its orange pulp. We make no GI claim for Kesar or pairi, because the certificate we hold covers Alphonso only.
Mangoes Bangalore shops already sell
Bangalore has its own mango culture, and shops across the city stock varieties from Karnataka and other southern states, such as Badami, Raspuri and Totapuri. I do not sell those and I will not rate them, since I cannot speak for fruit I do not handle. If you enjoy them, keep buying them locally. If you want Konkan Alphonso or Gujarat Kesar, that is where we can help. Our pages on mangoes online in Bangalore and Ratnagiri Alphonso mangoes in Bangalore look at this from other angles.
Delivery to Bangalore
We dispatch by Blue Dart. About 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery, and the rest take longer. I do not promise a delivery day for Bangalore as a whole, because the PIN code decides it, and the city has many PIN codes. Enter yours at checkout, and the page shows what is possible for your address.

- Choose an address where someone can receive the box, such as a family member or the apartment reception.
- Open the box on the day it arrives and lay the fruit in a single layer at room temperature, away from direct sun.
- Report any damage within 24 hours of delivery by writing to support@alphonsomango.in.
For delivery in the wider state, see online mango delivery in Karnataka.
Checklist before you buy
Whichever mango you pick, from us or from anyone else, a short list of questions saves trouble:
- Which variety is it, and from which district or taluka, in writing?
- For Alphonso, can the seller give a GI Authorised User certificate number? Can the seller give an FSSAI licence number? Ours is 10020022011783.
- How was the fruit ripened?
- Is the price per dozen, per box or per kilo, and what grade does it cover?
- What is the rule if fruit arrives damaged?
If you want to learn what to look at in the fruit itself, read how to identify Alphonso mango. No home test is proof.
Ripening and carbide

Selling fruit ripened with calcium carbide (acetylene) gas is prohibited in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. That rule covers every seller in Bangalore too. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Keep firm fruit at room temperature and do not refrigerate it until it is ripe. A ripe mango smells sweet near the stalk and gives slightly when pressed. Our guide to how to ripen Alphonso mango has more.
Season and off-season options
Alphonso is harvested from about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside that window we do not sell fresh Alphonso, and the fresh listings show as unavailable. If a seller offers fresh Konkan Alphonso in the wrong months, ask where it came from. Our Alphonso Mango Pulp Tin is available all year, in 850 g and 3.1 kg tins, so aamras does not have to wait.
