Buy Premium Mango for Breakfast: Boost Your Health - AlphonsoMango.in

To buy mango for breakfast, order a dozen of small-grade Alphonso from AlphonsoMango.in, from Rs 1,849, so one fruit is one portion. Ripen it at room temperature and slice it into curd, oats or a smoothie. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027.

Why mango works at breakfast

We are Powle Home Foods in Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. A ripe mango is one of the few fruits that needs no sugar, no cooking and no recipe to make a morning meal feel generous. It is also a fruit with a real limit: it is seasonal, and the right box size matters more than usual, because you will be eating through it over days rather than all at once.

Nutrition figures for mango are generic, and we do not have variety-level lab data for Alphonso. Per 100 g of raw mango, published data gives about 36 mg of vitamin C, roughly 40% of the Daily Value, about 168 mg of potassium and about 43 micrograms of folate, with some fibre and natural sugars. One whole raw mango also gives about 112 mcg RAE of vitamin A. Our mango nutrition facts page lists the full table.

Mango contains natural sugar and is not a free food. If you manage diabetes or watch blood sugar, ask your doctor about portion and timing. Read our guide on mango and diabetes for the general points. We sell fruit and cannot give medical advice.

Breakfast ideas with mango

The fruit does most of the work. These work with a ripe fruit, or with pulp when the season is over.

Mango breakfast pairing guide
Breakfast How to make it Which mango
Curd bowl Diced mango over thick curd or Greek yogurt, with a handful of nuts Any ripe Alphonso
Smoothie bowl Blend ripe mango with a little milk or coconut milk, top with seeds and granola The softest fruit, or pulp
Oatmeal topping Slice mango over warm oats; add walnuts or cashews Ripe but slightly firm fruit
Aamras with puri or chapati Pulp the flesh, chill, serve with warm bread Alphonso, Kesar or pulp
Chia pudding Soak chia in milk overnight, top with fresh mango in the morning Any ripe fruit

A quick bowl for one: half a cup of thick curd or yogurt, one ripe Alphonso diced, a handful of granola or chopped cashews, and a little honey if you want it. It takes about five minutes. If the fruit is a little firm, give it another day. A firm mango makes a dull bowl.

Two small habits help. Cut the mango the night before and keep it covered in the fridge, so the morning is quick. And keep the stone: scrape the flesh close to it with a spoon, because plenty of flesh clings to it and is often wasted.

Which mango and how much to order for breakfast

We source Alphonso (Hapus) across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt on the Konkan coast. Alphonso from this belt is GI-tagged in India under GI No. 139, and we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139). It is sold by the dozen, and a dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade.

  • One person, a week of breakfasts: one dozen of the smallest grade (150 to 180 g, from Rs 1,849). Each fruit is a portion.
  • Family of four: one dozen of a medium grade (180 to 250 g, Rs 2,099 to Rs 2,499), shared over several days.
  • Smoothies and aamras for the week: two dozen of any grade, ripened together and pulped.

The Ratnagiri Alphonso Mango and Devgad Alphonso Mango both start from Rs 1,849 per dozen. For a lower entry price and a juicy, sweet-tangy fruit, the Kesar mango is Rs 999 for a half-dozen. Check the product page for the current price. We do not rank one mango above another; choose by how you eat.

Ripening a box so breakfast is ready

We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Harvest to ripening of Alphonso takes about 15 days, so a box may arrive with some fruit still firm. This is useful for breakfast: the fruit does not all ripen on one day, so you can eat through a box. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011, and we are an FSSAI-licensed seller.

  • Lay the fruit in a single layer at room temperature, away from direct sun.
  • Check every evening for the fruit you will eat next morning: a sweet smell at the stalk and a slight give at the shoulder mean ripe.
  • Move the ripe ones to the fridge for a day if you cannot eat them straight away. Do not chill firm fruit, as cold stops ripening.
  • If many ripen together, make aamras or pulp and freeze it in portions.

See our guide to ripening Alphonso at home for the full method.

Delivery, season and breakfast without fresh fruit

Give an address where someone will be at home to receive the perishable box, and report any damage within 24 hours of delivery to support@alphonsomango.in or 8369048029.

Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Fresh Alphonso is not sold outside the season. For breakfast in the other months, the Alphonso mango pulp tin (850 g and 3.1 kg, from Rs 590) works in smoothies, oats and curd, and we list freeze-dried Alphonso cubes too. The Alphonso mango season guide has the dates by month.

Order the quantity you need for the days you will be eating it, since a ripe mango does not keep for long.

People also ask

Is mango a good breakfast fruit?

Yes, for most people. Ripe mango is sweet without added sugar and gives vitamin C, potassium, folate and some fibre. It contains natural sugar, so portion matters, and people managing diabetes should ask their doctor. Pair it with curd, oats or nuts to make a more filling breakfast.

Can I eat mango on an empty stomach?

Many people do, and there is no rule against it, but a mango alone is mostly sugar and water. Pairing it with curd, oats or nuts makes a more balanced breakfast. If you have blood-sugar concerns or a sensitive stomach, ask your doctor. We sell fruit and cannot give medical advice.

How many mangoes should I buy for a week of breakfasts?

One dozen of small-grade Alphonso (150 to 180 g, from Rs 1,849) covers about a week for one person at a fruit a day. A family of four may want a medium grade or two dozen. Fruit ripens over several days, so a dozen is eaten in sequence, not all at once.

Can I get mango for breakfast outside the season?

Fresh Alphonso is sold only in season, which runs about February to June, and the 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside those months, the Alphonso pulp tin is available all year and works in smoothies, oats and curd, and so do the freeze-dried Alphonso cubes.
