Online mango delivery in Mangalore — GI-certified Alphonso from Ratnagiri

Online mango delivery in Mangalore

Mangalore, also called Mangaluru, is a port city in coastal Karnataka. The Alphonso we sell grows on the Konkan coast, which runs along the same Arabian Sea shoreline further north. That makes Mangalore an easy city to explain: the fruit does not have to cross the country, but it does have to travel by courier, and the courier decides how long that takes. This page is for anyone in Mangalore who wants genuine Alphonso, or Hapus, delivered to a door in the city.

We are AlphonsoMango.in, run by Powle Home Foods in Mumbai. We source across 48 villages in the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt. We hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139), and the details are on our Brand Facts page. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller.

From the Konkan coast to Mangalore

Konkan is the stretch of India's western coast between the Arabian Sea and the Deccan Plateau, and Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are two of its districts. Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district. Ratnagiri is a district in its own right. Both give us Alphonso, the same variety. We do not say one is better than the other, and we do not compare their timing or sweetness. What is true is that both are on the coast you share with Mangalore.

Our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, in the pre-dawn hours, so it is not shaken off the tree. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Selling fruit ripened with carbide is prohibited in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011.

What to order for Mangalore

Here is a simple guide to the choices. All fresh options are sold in season only, and prices are "from" prices, so check the product page for today's price.

Choices for a Mangalore order
You want Order From
Alphonso for the family Ratnagiri Alphonso Rs 1,849 per dozen
The same variety, Devgad listing Devgad Alphonso Rs 1,849 per dozen
A Gujarat mango as well Kesar mango Rs 999 half dozen, Rs 1,699 dozen
Alphonso in the off-season Alphonso Mango Pulp Tin Rs 590

A dozen of Alphonso weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade, and the largest Ratnagiri option goes up to Rs 5,399. We sell by the dozen and not by the kilo. If you are new to us, one dozen in a smaller grade is the lowest-risk first order.

Ripening and storing mango in coastal weather

Mangalore is warm and humid for much of the year, and heat speeds ripening. That is the main practical point on this page. A mango in a warm room goes from firm to ripe faster than the same mango in a cooler city. The ripening of fruit also gives off ethylene, a natural gas, so a box of mangoes ripens quicker when the fruit is kept together in a closed space.

  • Unpack the box when it arrives. Do not leave the fruit sealed in the carton in a warm hall.
  • Check each fruit daily in humid weather. The smell near the stalk turns sweet as the fruit ripens, and the skin gives a little under gentle pressure.
  • Keep it out of direct sun and away from the cooker and any warm kitchen shelf.
  • Refrigerate fully ripe fruit if you will not eat it within a day or two, and bring it back to room temperature before eating.
  • Keep unripe fruit out of the fridge. Cold stops ripening and can leave the flesh dull.
  • Report damage within 24 hours of delivery by writing to support@alphonsomango.in with your order number.

Planning around the season

Alphonso is harvested from about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. We do not sell fresh Alphonso outside the season. When the season is closed, the product pages show the fruit as unavailable, and that is accurate. The pulp tin stays available all year in 850 g and 3.1 kg packs. Our page on the mango season sets out the calendar.

We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. We do not promise a delivery day for Mangalore or any named city, as it depends on your PIN code. For the way dispatch works, read our mango delivery guide. If you are also looking at other cities in the south, we have separate pages for Bangalore, Coimbatore and Mysore.

Gifts and larger orders

You can order a box for someone in Mangalore from anywhere. Enter the recipient's address and PIN code at checkout. We supply restaurants and hotels too. For a larger order, or for corporate gifting, write to us first with your quantity, your city and the date you need the fruit, and we will tell you what is possible. There is no GST on fresh mangoes. For corporate gifting orders GST applies on shipping, and the invoice shows it. Our gifting page is a good place to begin.

What is the price of Alphonso mango for Mangalore delivery?

Our Alphonso starts from Rs 1,849 per dozen, and larger grades cost more, up to Rs 5,399 on the Ratnagiri page. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. We price by the dozen, not the kilo. Check the product page for the price when you order.

How should I store Alphonso mango in humid weather?

Unpack the box on arrival and lay the fruit in a single layer, away from sun and heat. Let firm fruit ripen at room temperature and check it daily, because warm weather speeds ripening. Refrigerate only fully ripe fruit, and do not put unripe fruit in the fridge.
