Delivery to Bangalore

Orders to Bangalore move via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees — the courier depends on your pin code. Transit is 1–3 days to most Indian cities; Bangalore metro pin codes typically land in 1–2 days. We cover 15,000–17,000 serviceable pin codes across India.

Fruit is dispatched at 70–80% ripeness — firm enough for the journey. It ripens fully within about three days of delivery. If fruit arrives transit-damaged or quality-failed, photograph or video the box and fruit and send via WhatsApp within 24 hours of delivery. No physical return is needed. We dispatch a fresh replacement or credit your account for the next purchase.

What happens if the fruit arrives unripe?

Alphonso dispatched at 70–80% ripeness is designed to ripen at room temperature within three days. Keep it out of the fridge, away from direct sunlight. If it does not ripen correctly, contact us on WhatsApp with photos within 24 hours of delivery and we replace or credit.

How to Know If an Online Seller's Alphonso Is Genuine

Genuine Alphonso sold under GI Tag No. 139 must come from Ratnagiri or Sindhudurg districts in Maharashtra — nowhere else. Ask any seller for their GI Authorised User number. Ours is AU/5974/GI/139/260, issued by the GI Registry of India, certificate No. 4163, dated 16 October 2019.

Carbide-ripened fruit is the other red flag. Calcium carbide leaves a harsh metallic aftertaste and produces uneven yellow skin with white or green patches internally. Our mangoes are ripened only on hay beds — no carbide, no ethylene chambers. An independent NABL-accredited lab, Envirocare Labs Pvt. Ltd. (Thane, certificate TC-8284, report 01/ETHAP2500044 dated 5 April 2025), tested 28 pesticide residues in the 2025 season. All 28 were within Codex maximum residue limits; 27 of 28 were below the limit of quantification (0.01 mg/kg). We do not call the fruit pesticide-free — one residue, thiamethoxam, was detected at 0.013 mg/kg against a permitted limit of 0.2 mg/kg. That is the honest answer.

What does a GI-certified Alphonso look like?

The skin is golden-yellow at ripeness, with a faint green tinge at the stem end in early-season fruit. The lenticels — those small brown dots — are visible and pronounced, especially on Devgad fruit. The saffron-orange pulp is fibreless and sits at 18–24° Brix. Any fruit paler than deep saffron internally is almost certainly not Hapus.

Where Our Mangoes Come From

Prashant Powle sources from 55 named villages across Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. In Devgad taluka alone, that includes Devgad, Jamsande, Vijaydurg, Dahibav, Kunkeshwar, Mithbav and 18 others. Ratnagiri taluka villages include Pawas, Golap, Nachane, Mavalange and Mirya. Rajapur, Lanja and Mandangad talukas add Anjarle, Velneshwar, Velas and Kelshi, among others.

The orchards are typically 12–25 years old, sea-facing, and chosen by Prashant on Brix consistency, tree longevity and how the farmer manages alternate-bearing years. We work with 100+ partner farmer families. Cultivation follows strict SOPs covering which natural sprays and fertilisers are applied from flowering to harvest. The APEDA registration number is 225579; we export to the US, UK, UAE, Singapore and Japan.

How We Ripen and Pack the Fruit

Every mango is hand-harvested using a Nutan/Zela pole fitted with a catching net. The tree is never shaken; fruit never falls. For tall trees, an indigenously developed length-extending pole with a camera is used. From tree to the Ratnagiri or Devgad packhouse takes about two hours. Post-harvest cooling happens at the packhouse, followed by a controlled hot-water treatment to reduce surface issues. Air-conditioned vehicles then carry the fruit to Mumbai — a 10–12 hour run.

At the Mumbai packhouse, the mangoes spend 24–48 hours on a hay bed (Aadi ripening) in temperature-controlled rooms. No ethylene chambers. No calcium carbide. No artificial ripening agents of any kind. This is not a technicality — it changes the flavour profile. Carbide produces a uniform colour with flat sweetness; hay-bed ripening yields the layered, slightly floral Alphonso taste that makes the variety famous.

Before packing, every fruit is weighed, graded and scanned by AI/ML-assisted machines that check for internal defects including spongy tissue and external deformities. Each mango goes into a foam-net sleeve (flat width 50–55 mm, length 100–120 mm by fruit size) inside a 12-slot partition inside a 5-ply corrugated fibreboard box with six air holes top and bottom. The partition carries transit pressure — not the fruit. Total time from harvest to dispatch: 48–72 hours.

Nutrition and Selection

Ripe Alphonso pulp contains roughly 30–36 mg vitamin C per 100 g. A 100 g serving meets about 40–45% of the ICMR-NIN 2020 RDA for adult men (80 mg/day) and about 50% for adult women (65 mg/day). Mangiferin, a compound in Alphonso, showed anti-inflammatory activity in a 2011 cell study by Govindappa et al.

How to tell if a delivered Alphonso is ripe and ready

  • Skin colour: deep golden yellow, stem end may still be faintly green in early-season fruit — that is normal.
  • Aroma: sweet, floral and pronounced at the stem end. A ripe Alphonso smells like itself before you cut it.
  • Firmness: gentle pressure gives slightly. Mushy means overripe; rock-hard means it needs one more day at room temperature.
  • Lenticels: the small brown dots should be visible. If the skin is blank and waxy, the variety is likely not Hapus.

We do not sell fresh Alphonso July to January. That is an honest limit worth stating. The season runs February to June (peak March to May) and nothing post-June is orchard-fresh, whatever sellers claim.

How to Order

  2. Add to cart and enter your Bangalore pin code: The site confirms serviceability and shows the courier assigned to your pin (BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees).
  3. Dispatch: Your order moves within 48–72 hours of harvest via air-conditioned transport to Mumbai, then courier to Bangalore — typically 1–3 days from dispatch.

Are Alphonso and Banginapalli the same?

No. Alphonso (Hapus) and Banginapalli are two entirely different mango varieties. Alphonso originates in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, holds GI Tag No. 139, and ripens to deep saffron-orange fibreless pulp at 18–24° Brix. Banginapalli is a larger, yellow-skinned variety from Andhra Pradesh, firmer in texture and milder in aroma.

Bangalore markets often stock Banginapalli because it travels well by road — if you want genuine GI-tagged Hapus, check the seller's authorised user number before buying.
