Alphonso mango in Bangalore is easy to find in season, but the label alone does not tell you the origin. We deliver Ratnagiri and Devgad Alphonso from the Konkan coast by Blue Dart, from Rs 1,849 per dozen. Check your Bangalore PIN code at checkout.
Alphonso mango in Bangalore: what you are choosing between

Bangalore is a mango city. Karnataka grows several varieties, and the city's markets and apartment-society sellers stock Raspuri, Badami, Mallika, Totapuri, Banganapalli and more through the season. Alphonso from the Konkan coast of Maharashtra is one among them, and it is the one people ask for by name when they want a gift box or the Hapus flavour.
That is where confusion starts. You may see a Badami mango sold as "Karnataka Alphonso", and a box labelled Alphonso with no region. Badami and Alphonso are separate varieties. If a seller says Alphonso, ask where it was grown. Ours is Hapus from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt of the Konkan, sourced across 48 villages.
Ratnagiri or Devgad for Bangalore

Ratnagiri is a district, and Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district, and both grow the same variety. We do not rank one above the other. Both our Ratnagiri Alphonso and Devgad Alphonso start from Rs 1,849 per dozen, and the price rises with the grade and the number of dozens. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade.
For a household in Whitefield, Koramangala, Indiranagar or Jayanagar the practical choice is the grade and the box size, not the place. Pick a smaller grade for daily eating and aamras, and a larger grade for a gift. Our note on Ratnagiri and Devgad Hapus explains the two places.
How to check you are getting real Alphonso
A few questions work with any seller in Bangalore.
- Which region? Ratnagiri and Devgad are the Konkan places the GI tag covers. We hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).
- What is the grade and count per dozen?
- How was it ripened? Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds.
- Is there an FSSAI licence? Ours is 10020022011783.
Colour, aroma and a water test give only rough clues, not proof, because a ripe mango can look different from one fruit to the next. The seller's answers and papers matter more. Our guide to identifying carbide-ripened mangoes online covers it in more detail.
Local Karnataka mangoes and Konkan Alphonso side by side
Buying Alphonso does not mean giving up local fruit. Many Bangalore families keep both, and the two do different jobs.
| Point | Local Karnataka varieties | Konkan Alphonso (Hapus) |
|---|---|---|
| Typical use | Daily eating, juices, shakes | Gifting, eating fresh, aamras |
| Where it is grown | Karnataka orchards | Ratnagiri and Devgad belt, Maharashtra |
| What to ask | Variety name and grade | Region, grade, ripening method and papers |
If you are planning a gift for a Bangalore family, the Konkan name is the one most recipients recognise. If you are stocking up for the week, a mix of local fruit and one box of Alphonso is a sensible plan. Kesar from Gujarat is another option, starting from Rs 999 per box on our Kesar mango page.
We have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales. For office gifting in the city, see our corporate gifting guide, which lists what to ask any supplier.
Alphonso mango price in Bangalore

People in Bangalore often search for a price per kg or per dozen. We sell by the dozen, so we do not quote a per-kg figure. Our Alphonso starts from Rs 1,849 per dozen, and the product page shows the price for each grade and box size. Bangalore market prices depend on the day's supply, the variety and the grade, so compare the count and the grade, not only the number. For the national picture, read our Alphonso mango price in India guide.
Season matters too. Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with supply best from March to May, and the 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season fresh Alphonso is not sold by us, but our Alphonso Mango Pulp Tin is available all year, in 850 g and 3.1 kg tins from Rs 590.

We ask customers to report damage within 24 hours of delivery. For more on Karnataka, read our guides to mangoes online in Bangalore and mango delivery in Karnataka.
Storing and eating Alphonso in Bangalore's climate
Bangalore is milder than many Indian cities, so a box can ripen slowly. Keep the fruit at room temperature in a single layer and away from direct sun, and sort it every day. Eat the softest pieces first. When a piece is ripe, you can keep it in the fridge for a few days. Wikipedia gives about 15 days from harvest to ripening for Alphonso, so some fruit in a box will need patience.
Alphonso is rich in natural sugars. Ripe fruit is best eaten soon, and any cut pieces should go into a covered container in the fridge. People managing blood sugar should eat it in small portions and ask their doctor or dietitian. Our note on mango and diabetes gives general information.
