Devgad fruit from villages like Jamsande, Vijaydurg and Dahibav tends to hit the higher end of the Brix range because those sea-facing orchards (most 12–25 years old) ripen slower. Ratnagiri fruit — particularly from Pawas, Golap and Nachane — has a slightly more floral nose. Both carry the same GI. Our repeat-order data from 47,000+ customers shows north India, including cities like Kanpur, consistently favours Ratnagiri.

Delivery Across India

Alphonso mangoes delivery in Kanpur via BlueDart and Delhivery

We dispatch via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees — the courier assigned to your Kanpur pin code at dispatch. Transit to most Uttar Pradesh cities runs 1–3 days. Metro cities like Mumbai and Delhi typically receive in 20–24 hours. We cover 15,000–17,000 serviceable pin codes across India.

The box is a top-and-bottom 5-ply corrugated fibreboard (CFB) unit, 130 gsm paper, with a 12-slot partition that absorbs transit pressure instead of passing it to the fruit. Every mango sits in a foam-net sleeve (flat width 50–55 mm) on a hay bed. Six air holes on the top and bottom panels keep airflow going so condensation evaporates instead of triggering anthracnose. The partition carries the force; the fruit rides free.

If transit damages any fruit, photograph or video it within 24 hours of delivery and send via WhatsApp. No physical return is needed. We dispatch a fresh replacement or credit your account for the next order — your choice.

We do not sell or dispatch fresh Alphonso from July to January. If someone offers you "fresh Alphonso" in August, it is not fresh from this season. We are honest about that.

How to Order

  1. Select your variety and grade. Go to alphonsomango.in/collections/mangoes, choose Ratnagiri or Devgad Alphonso, then pick your weight grade — Small (150–180 g), Medium (180–225 g), Extra Large (250–275 g) or Jumbo (275–300 g) — and your box size: half dozen, one dozen or two dozen.
  2. Add to cart and complete checkout. Enter your Kanpur delivery address; the system assigns the right courier for your pin code automatically.
  3. We dispatch within 48–72 hours of harvest via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees depending on your pin code, and your mangoes arrive in Kanpur in 1–3 days, ready to ripen fully on your counter within about three days.

Where These Mangoes Come From

Hapus Amba (Alphonso mango) sourced from Konkan villages for Kanpur delivery

Prashant Powle built the sourcing network from 2017 onward. Today it spans 55 named villages across Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts — places like Pawas, Golap and Nachane in Ratnagiri taluka; Devgad, Jamsande and Vijaydurg in Devgad taluka; and Achara, Tondavali and Kochare along the Malvan coast. Each orchard is selected on three criteria: Brix consistency across the tree, the age and management of the root stock (most are 12–25 years old), and the farmer's practice of alternate-bearing management so the tree is never pushed to exhaustion.

We work with 100+ partner farmer families. Their cultivation follows strict SOPs from flowering to harvest — specific natural sprays, specific fertilisers, no shortcuts. Fruit is harvested by hand using a Nutan/Zela pole fitted with a catching net. The tree is never shaken. For tall trees, Prashant's team uses an indigenously developed length-extending pole with a camera so the harvest team can see what they are cutting before they cut it.

What is GI Tag No. 139 and why does it matter for a buyer in Kanpur?

GI No. 139 covers Alphonso mangoes grown in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts of Maharashtra. Powle Home Foods holds GI Authorised User status AU/5974/GI/139/260 (Registry Certificate No. 4163, issued 16 October 2019). That number is verifiable at the GI Registry. It means we have legal authority to label fruit from these districts as certified GI Alphonso — unlike unlabelled fruit sold at Kanpur markets, which may be from any origin.

How We Ripen Them

After harvest, fruit goes to the Ratnagiri or Devgad packhouse within about two hours. It is cooled, then transported in air-conditioned vehicles to our Mumbai packhouse — a 10–12 hour run. At Mumbai, every mango undergoes 24–48 hours of natural hay-bed (Aadi) ripening in temperature-controlled rooms. No ethylene chambers. No calcium carbide. No artificial ripening agents of any kind.

We also run AI/ML-assisted machine scanning on each fruit before packing to check for internal spongy tissue and external deformities. A fruit that does not pass does not ship.

Envirocare Labs Pvt. Ltd. (Thane, NABL accredited, certificate TC-8284) tests for pesticide residues weekly through the season. Their April 2025 report (01/ETHAP2500044, issued 5 April 2025) cleared all 28 residues within Codex maximum residue limits — 27 of 28 were below the limit of quantification (0.01 mg/kg). The one detected residue, thiamethoxam, was 0.013 mg/kg against a Codex limit of 0.2 mg/kg. We say "independently tested, all residues within Codex limits" — not "pesticide-free," because one residue was detectable within limits.

What You Get in Every Serving

Ripe Alphonso pulp contains roughly 30–36 mg of vitamin C per 100 g. Based on the ICMR-NIN 2020 RDA (80 mg/day for adult men, 65 mg/day for adult women), a 100 g serving covers about 40–45% of the daily requirement for men and about 50% for women.

Mangiferin, a polyphenol concentrated in Alphonso pulp, showed anti-inflammatory activity in cell studies (Govindappa et al., 2011). The fruit also provides beta-carotene (the precursor to vitamin A), which supports eye health and immune function. These are real, cited numbers — not marketing copy.

Is Alphonso mango good for babies?

Alphonso puree is suitable as a first food for babies from around 6 months. This is a serving suggestion, not medical advice — check with your paediatrician if you have specific questions about introducing solids.

When Is the Season?

The Alphonso season runs February to June, with peak availability in March, April and May. If you are ordering in Kanpur between July and January, fresh Alphonso is not available — we will not sell you fruit that does not exist. The 2027 mango season starts on 1 February 2027, and fresh mangoes are out of stock until then.

Ratnagiri Alphonso won the Gold Medal at the national One District One Product (ODOP) Awards 2024 — a district-product recognition, not a brand award. It reflects the quality of the geography these orchards sit in.
