Online Mango Fruit: Buy Fresh Mangoes Online Today! - AlphonsoMango.in

Mango fruit online is easiest to buy by the dozen from a seller who names the variety. AlphonsoMango.in sells Alphonso from Rs 1,849, Kesar from Rs 999 and Pairi from Rs 2,799, sent by Blue Dart. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027.

Mango fruit online: what you can buy from us

We are Powle Home Foods in Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. We started selling offline in 2019 and online in 2020, and we have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales. Online, we sell fresh mango fruit by the dozen in three varieties, and a pulp tin for the months when fresh fruit is not available.

Alphonso (Hapus), Ratnagiri or Devgad By the dozen, from Rs 1,849 Ratnagiri Alphonso, Devgad Alphonso
Kesar Half dozen Rs 999, dozen Rs 1,699 Kesar Mango
Pairi 1 dozen, from Rs 2,799 Pairi Mango
Alphonso pulp tin 850 g and 3.1 kg, from Rs 590 Alphonso Mango Pulp

Prices are the listed ones and can change, so check the product page for the price on the day you order. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. Only Alphonso carries a GI claim from us. Kesar and Pairi are sold on their own merits.

Which mango fruit to choose

We do not rank one variety above another, because the right fruit depends on how you plan to eat it. A few plain facts help.

  • Alphonso. Wikipedia describes the pulp as rich, creamy and non-fibrous, and puts a fruit at about 150 to 300 g. It is named after Afonso de Albuquerque. Alphonso from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt is GI-tagged in India (GI No. 139).
  • Kesar. Gir Kesar is said to have been grown in 1931 by the Junagadh Wazir Sale Bhai, and is said to have been known as Kesar since 1934, when the Nawab of Junagadh remarked on its orange pulp.
  • Pairi. Also written Payari, it is a separate variety again, sold by the dozen on its own page.

If you are unsure, order a small box of two varieties and compare them at home. Our guide to buying authentic Kesar mango covers that fruit in more detail, and the guide to Ratnagiri and Devgad Alphonso covers the two Alphonso origins without ranking them.

What a good online mango listing should tell you

Photos of ripe fruit are easy to find. A listing is only useful if it answers the questions a photo cannot.

  • Variety and origin: Alphonso, Kesar or Pairi, and where it grew.
  • Count and size: how many fruits in the box and the size grade of each.
  • Ripening method: a plain statement, not a vague "natural".
  • Delivery terms: the carrier and how serviceability is decided.
  • Damage reporting: how soon you must tell the seller.

Our product pages are written to answer these five points, and our Brand Facts page lists the rest. Ask the same of any seller, including us.

How the fruit is picked and ripened

Devgad Alphonso mango fruit box from AlphonsoMango.in

Our Alphonso is sourced across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt on the Konkan coast. It is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, and harvest is done at Brahma Muhurta, the pre-dawn hour, for all our Alphonso. Wikipedia notes that Alphonso takes about 15 days from harvest to ripening, so a box can hold fruit at different stages.

Ripening is the question to put to any seller of mango fruit. Selling fruit ripened with calcium carbide gas is prohibited in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. No home test, including the bucket-of-water test, proves how a mango was ripened. At best it is a rough clue, not proof.

Checking ripeness when the box arrives

Colour is a poor guide on its own, because green, gold and a blush can sit together on one ripening fruit. Use your nose and your thumb instead.

  1. Smell the stalk end. A sweet fruity aroma builds as the fruit ripens.
  2. Press gently. A slight give means it is ready; a hard fruit needs more days.
  3. Keep it at room temperature until it gives, and out of direct sun.
  4. Refrigerate only ripe fruit, and cover anything you have cut.

One thing is invisible from the outside. Alphonso can develop spongy tissue, an internal flesh disorder, and ICAR-IIHR research traced it to the seed shifting into germination mode at about 60% fruit maturity. If a fruit looks wrong inside, tell us within 24 hours of delivery.

Delivery for mango fruit orders

We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. We do not promise a delivery day for any named city, so the PIN code check at checkout is the step that matters. Damage should be reported to us within 24 hours of delivery.

Open the box soon after it arrives, take the fruit out and lay it in a single layer so you can check each one.

Nutrition and spelling: two quick answers

Wikipedia gives raw mango as providing about 36 mg of vitamin C per 100 g, roughly 40% of the Daily Value. That is for mango in general, not one variety. Mango is also sweet, so people who count carbohydrates or manage a condition should ask a doctor or dietitian about portions.

On spelling, dictionaries accept both "mangoes" and "mangos" as the plural. "Mangoes" is the more usual form, and it is what you will see across our site.

Season dates and what to buy between seasons

Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season we do not sell fresh Alphonso. Alphonso pulp tins are available all year from Rs 590, which is the practical way to keep the flavour in the house for aamras, shakes and desserts. People also ask

Where can I buy fresh mango fruit online?

You can buy fresh mango fruit online from AlphonsoMango.in, which is run by Powle Home Foods in Mumbai. We sell Alphonso, Kesar and Pairi by the dozen and send them by Blue Dart. Enter your PIN code at checkout, and check the product page for the price on the day you order.

Which mango fruit is best to buy online?

It depends on how you plan to eat it, so we do not rank varieties. Alphonso is described as rich, creamy and non-fibrous, Kesar has orange pulp, and Pairi is a separate variety. Whichever you pick, ask the seller for the origin, the fruit count and how the fruit was ripened.

Can I buy mango fruit online outside the season?

Not fresh Alphonso. Alphonso is harvested about February to June, and the 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season we do not sell fresh Alphonso, but Alphonso pulp tins in 850 g and 3.1 kg sizes are available all year, from Rs 590.

What is the difference between mangoes and mangos?

Nothing in meaning. Both are accepted plural spellings of mango in dictionaries. "Mangoes" is the more common form, especially in Indian English, so we use it on this site. Whichever spelling you search with, you will find the same fruit, and the same fresh varieties, on our pages.
