Delivery Across India

Fruit leaves our Mumbai packhouse by BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees — the courier depends on your pin code. Metro cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune) typically receive their order in 20–24 hours from dispatch. Everywhere else in India: 1–3 days. We serve 15,000–17,000 serviceable pin codes.

Kesar arrives at 70–80% ripeness — firm enough for the journey, fully ripe within about three days of delivery. The box is a 5-ply corrugated fibreboard courier pack; every mango sits in a foam-net sleeve in a 12-slot partition that absorbs transit pressure so the fruit doesn't. Six air holes top and bottom keep the hay breathing during that final ripening window.

We do not dispatch fresh Kesar or Alphonso from July to January. That's an honest limit: the season closes in June and we won't ship off-season fruit.

How to Order

  1. Select your Kesar mango box — visit alphonsomango.in/products/kesar-mango. The 1.4–1.6 kg box (4–6 fruit) starts at ₹999. If you want Alphonso alongside, add a Ratnagiri dozen from ₹1,849.
  2. Add to cart and check out securely — enter your pin code to confirm serviceability; payment options include UPI, cards and net banking.
  3. We dispatch your order — BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees picks up within the same business day (subject to order timing and pin code). You receive a tracking link. Most cities: 1–3 days.

Gir Kesar Origin and GI Tag

Premium Kesar and Alphonso mangoes packed for online delivery

Gir Kesar holds GI Tag No. 185 covering Junagadh district in Gujarat — specifically the Girnar foothills, the Gir forest belt and Talala. The name "Kesar" comes from the saffron (kesar) colour of the pulp. Every Kesar mango we sell traces back to this geography. We do not source Kesar from Konkan or any other region.

The Girnar belt gives Kesar a distinct terroir: basalt-rich, well-drained red soil, dry summer heat and the microclimate off the Gir forest. Prashant Powle visited orchards in the Junagadh belt before selecting supplier farms — the same discipline he applies to the 55 villages across Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg for Alphonso.

Authenticity check: ask any seller for their GI Registry authorisation. For Alphonso from our orchards, our GI Authorised User number is AU/5974/GI/139/260, verified against FSSAI licence 10020022011783 and APEDA registration 225579.

Kesar Mango Season

When is Kesar mango season?

Kesar season runs February to June, with the peak harvest in April and May. Early-season fruit (February–March) tends to be firmer with a lighter colour; peak-season fruit (April–May) delivers the deepest saffron pulp and highest Brix. By late June, yields drop sharply and quality variance rises. We stop taking orders once reliable supply from the Junagadh belt ends — which is typically before July.

If you're reading this outside the February–June window, you can register your interest for pre-order. Pre-orders can be cancelled before dispatch.

Ripening and Storage at Home

Your Kesar box arrives at 70–80% ripeness. Leave the mangoes in the box at room temperature (not the fridge) for two to three days. The hay inside the box continues the natural ripening process — the same Aadi method used at our Mumbai packhouse, just at your end. Once the skin gives slightly under gentle pressure and the saffron aroma is strong, refrigerate and consume within two days.

No carbide. No ethylene chambers. No artificial ripening agents of any kind. The hay-bed (Aadi) method is what every Konkan and Junagadh grower used before industrial ripening became common — we've simply kept it.

Fruit for export to the US, UK, UAE, Singapore and Japan goes through the same packhouse process. The independently tested residue panel — Envirocare Labs Pvt. Ltd. (NABL-accredited, certificate TC-8284), report 01/ETHAP2500044 issued 5 April 2025 — found all 28 residues within Codex maximum residue limits, with 27 of 28 below the limit of quantification (0.01 mg/kg). We say "independently tested, all residues within Codex limits" — not "pesticide-free."

People Also Ask

Which mango is better, Kesar or Alphonso?

Neither is objectively better — they suit different tastes. Alphonso (Hapus) from Ratnagiri or Devgad has golden-yellow pulp with a rich, buttery aroma and Brix reaching 24°. Gir Kesar from Junagadh has deep saffron-orange pulp, a floral scent, and Brix of 18–22°. Both ripen naturally on hay, with no carbide.

If you want the classic Konkan richness, order Alphonso from ₹1,849 per dozen. For the saffron-pulp experience from Gujarat's Girnar belt, Kesar starts at ₹999 for a 1.4–1.6 kg box.

Does mango ever go on sale?

Yes — Kesar mango deals at AlphonsoMango.in start from ₹999 for a 1.4–1.6 kg box of GI-tagged Gir Kesar from Junagadh district. The best prices and freshest fruit fall in April and May, at peak harvest. Outside the February–June season, fresh mangoes are not dispatched at any price — the season closes and we stop.
