Hapus ambyachi peti kimmat (हापूस आंब्याची पेटी किंमत) at AlphonsoMango.in starts from Rs 1,849 per dozen for GI-certified Ratnagiri or Devgad Hapus and rises with grade to Rs 2,999 for the largest single dozen. We price by the dozen and deliver by Blue Dart.
What "hapus ambyachi peti" means, and how we sell it
In Marathi, hapus amba is the Alphonso mango and a peti is a box of it. "Hapus ambyachi peti kimmat" simply asks what a box of Hapus costs. The honest answer is that it depends on what is in the box. A traditional wooden peti from a wholesale market holds fruit of mixed sizes; our boxes hold one dozen of a single grade, so the price is tied to the weight band of the fruit.
We are Powle Home Foods, Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. Our Hapus is sourced across 55 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt on the Konkan coast, and we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139). We have sold mangoes since 2019, online since 2020, to 47,000+ customers including offline and marketplace sales. The details are on our Brand Facts page.

The prices are the same for Ratnagiri Hapus and Devgad Hapus at the same grade. The largest listing on our order-online page goes up to Rs 10,499. These are "from" prices and change with grade and availability, so check the product page for today's price. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade.
Why the peti price varies so much
- Fruit size (grade). The biggest factor. A dozen of 275 g fruit is more than twice the weight of a dozen of 150 g fruit, and the large fruit is scarcer.
- Point in the season. Hapus is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. Early boxes are few; the full range of grades is usually listed from March.
- Origin. Hapus from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt carries GI No. 139. A peti sold under the name without the belt behind it has no reason to cost the same.
- Ripening. Natural ripening on hay beds takes days; forced ripening takes hours. The slower way costs more and we will not skip it.
- Packing and shipping. Our dozen is packed for courier transit; shipping is shown separately at checkout for your PIN code.
Market petis are often quoted per peti of mixed sizes or per kg, so a market price and our dozen price are not the same product. We do not quote per-kg rates. If you want to compare, ask any seller which grade and which belt the price is for. Our aam ki peti price page covers the Hindi version of the same question, and how many mangoes come in a box explains counts.
Ratnagiri peti or Devgad peti
Ratnagiri is a district on the Konkan coast and Devgad is a taluka in neighbouring Sindhudurg district. Both grow the same Alphonso variety and both fall under GI No. 139. We list them separately because families ask for them by name, not because one is better; we do not rank one above the other, and the peti price for a given grade is the same. Pick the name your household knows, then pick the grade by use: small fruit for aamras, large fruit for gifting. Our Ratnagiri and Devgad Hapus guide says more.
We also list Kesar from Gujarat (half dozen Rs 999, dozen Rs 1,699) and Pairi (from Rs 2,799 per dozen) on the mango collection.
Carbide, hay beds and the law
We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. आम्ही कार्बाइड वापरत नाही; आमचा हापूस गवताच्या अढीत नैसर्गिकरीत्या पिकवला जातो. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller. No home test proves how a mango was ripened; the bucket-of-water test is a rough clue, not proof.
When the peti arrives, the fruit will be firm. Take it out of the box, keep it in a single layer at room temperature away from sun, and check daily. A sweet smell at the stalk and a slight give at the shoulder mean ripe. Do not refrigerate unripe fruit. See how to ripen Hapus at home and how to identify authentic Hapus.

People also ask
What does a Hapus peti cost (hapus ambyachi peti kimmat)?
At AlphonsoMango.in a dozen Ratnagiri or Devgad Hapus starts from Rs 1,849 for the smallest grade and rises with fruit size to Rs 2,999 for the largest single dozen. Two-dozen boxes run from Rs 3,499 to Rs 5,399. Prices change with grade and availability, so check the product page for today's price.
How many mangoes are in one Hapus peti?
Our petis are sold by the dozen, so one box holds twelve fruits of one grade, and a two-dozen box holds twenty-four. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. Traditional wooden market petis vary in count and mix sizes, so we do not state a count for those.
Why does the Hapus peti price change through the season?
Hapus is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. Early boxes are scarce, so the largest grades sell out first; by March the full range of grades is usually listed. Our 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027, and fresh Hapus is not sold outside the season.
Is the Hapus in your peti ripened with carbide?
No. We do not use calcium carbide, which is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under FSSAI Regulation 2.3.5. Our Hapus ripens naturally on hay beds, so the fruit arrives firm and finishes at home in two or three days. No home test proves ripening method; ask the seller directly.
