Fresh Mango Near Me: Your Guide to Finding the Best Mangoes - AlphonsoMango.in

Fresh mango near me: we have no shop to visit, so we bring fresh Alphonso to you. Order from AlphonsoMango.in, from Rs 1,849 per dozen, and Blue Dart delivers to your PIN code. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027.

Fresh mango near me: what that search really needs

When someone types fresh mango near me, they usually want three things: fruit that is actually fresh, a seller they can trust, and no wasted trip. A local fruit stall can give you the first by letting you smell and press the fruit. It cannot always give you the second, because you cannot ask where a mango came from and get a firm answer.

We are Powle Home Foods in Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. We have sold mangoes since 2019, online since 2020, and have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales. We have no shop or stall you can visit. Every order is placed on the website and goes by courier, so wherever you live, the fruit comes to you.

Our main fruit is Alphonso, called Hapus in Maharashtra, from 55 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt on the Konkan coast. Alphonso from this belt is GI-tagged in India under GI No. 139, and we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).

What fresh means for a mango

For a mango, fresh does not mean soft. It means recently harvested, handled gently and ripened in a controlled way. A mango that is already soft at a stall may have been ripening for days. These clues help you judge fruit anywhere, at a stall or in a box:

  • Smell at the stalk end. A ripe mango smells sweet and fruity. A sour or alcohol smell suggests overripe or fermenting fruit.
  • Gentle give at the shoulder. Ripe fruit yields a little under a thumb. A rock-hard fruit is unripe; a mushy one is past its best.
  • Weight for size. A heavy fruit generally means juicy flesh.
  • Skin. Small blemishes are normal. Deep dark patches, leaking juice or a split skin are not.

These are rough clues, not proof of quality or of how a fruit was ripened. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011; ethylene up to 100 ppm is the permitted alternative. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller. Ask any seller how the fruit was ripened; the bucket-of-water test is a rough clue, not proof.

A local stall and an online order compared

Buying fresh mango from a local seller and from us
Point Local stall or shop Online order from us
Seeing the fruit You smell and press it yourself You judge it on arrival
Origin Often unstated; ask Ratnagiri and Devgad belt, named on each page
Size and count Sold by weight or by piece Sold by the dozen in set size grades
Ripeness Whatever is on the stall May arrive firm; ripens at home in days
Effort A trip, and carrying the fruit A courier brings the box

Neither is wrong. A good local seller is worth keeping. If you want a specific fruit with a stated origin and size grade, or a gift for someone in another city, an online order fits better. Ask any seller where the fruit comes from; if they cannot say, buy a few and judge before you buy a box.

What we deliver

A dozen of the smallest grade, 150 to 180 g per fruit, is the entry price; larger grades cost more, up to Rs 2,999 a dozen. For gifts, the larger grades look better. For daily eating, the smaller grade is plenty. Check the product page for the current price. The whole range sits in the mango collection. Ratnagiri is a district; Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district. Both grow the same variety under the same GI, and we do not rank one above the other.

How delivery to your door works

We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Orders received before 1 PM are dispatched the same day. Check your PIN code at checkout. We do not promise a delivery day for a named city or locality, because the PIN code and the courier route decide it. Enter your PIN code before you pay and read the message the checkout shows.

Season and ripening at home

Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Fresh Alphonso is not sold outside the season; at other times, the pulp tin is the way to eat Alphonso.

Our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net. Harvest to ripening of Alphonso takes about 15 days, so a box can arrive with some fruit firm. Lay the mangoes in a single layer at room temperature, away from sun, and check them each morning. Do not chill firm fruit. Once a mango is soft, eat it that day or chill it briefly. See how to ripen Alphonso at home.
