Buying Alphonso mango online in Mumbai
Mumbai knows Alphonso better than most cities. The Konkan coast lies to the south, and the fruit has reached the city's markets for generations. Crawford Market and the APMC market at Vashi are the names most Mumbai families remember. Buying online is a different habit: you pick a variety and size on a screen, pay, and a courier brings the box to the building.

We are a Mumbai business, run by Powle Home Foods, and AlphonsoMango.in is the shop front. Our first sales were offline in 2019, and online sales began in 2020. We have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales. Our Alphonso is sourced across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt, and we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139). The certificate details are on our Brand Facts page.
Mumbai buyers search in many ways: Alphonso mango Mumbai online, Hapus mango online Mumbai, Ratnagiri Alphonso Mumbai, mango pulp Mumbai. The product pages are Ratnagiri Alphonso Mango and Devgad Alphonso Mango, and both show every size with its price.
Ratnagiri or Devgad, and which size

Ratnagiri and Devgad Alphonso are the same variety. Ratnagiri is a district, and Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district, and both are on the Konkan coast. We do not rank one above the other and we do not compare their harvest dates. Choose by size and by the occasion.
| If you are buying for | Consider |
|---|---|
| Daily eating at home | A smaller or medium grade, which keeps the cost of the dozen down |
| Aamras for a family lunch | A smaller grade, since the fruit is pulped |
| A gift for a friend or an office | A larger grade, which looks better in the box |
| Recipes outside the season | Alphonso Mango Pulp Tin |
Boxes start from Rs 1,849 per dozen, and the largest Ratnagiri option goes up to Rs 5,399. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade, so we do not quote a price per kilo. There is no GST on fresh mangoes, and the invoice shows this. Check the product page for the price of the size you want. Our cost of Alphonso mangoes in Mumbai page goes into the price detail.
Where the fruit comes from
The Konkan is the strip of coast between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats. Alphonso from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt is GI-tagged in India under GI No. 139, and the tag ties the name to that coast. Our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, and harvest is done before dawn at Brahma Muhurta, so the tree is not shaken and the fruit does not fall.
Because we are in Mumbai, the fruit does not have to cross the country before it reaches the city. That helps, but we make no promise about timing for any address, and the only delivery statement we make is the one in the delivery section below. For more on the places the fruit comes from, read about where Alphonso mangoes are grown and Ratnagiri and Devgad Alphonso.
How it is ripened

We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Mature fruit is laid on hay beds and ripens by itself over several days. That is why the box you receive may contain fruit at slightly different stages. It is normal, and it lets you eat the first mangoes at once and keep the rest for later.
Selling fruit ripened with calcium carbide gas is prohibited in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We recommend that you put the ripening question to every seller, including us, and ask for the answer in writing. No home test, including the water or bucket test, proves how a mango was ripened. Our guide on identifying carbide-free mangoes online lists the rough clues.

Mumbai has some delivery questions of its own. Many people live in tall buildings and gated societies, where a courier may need the watchman or the front desk to let the parcel in. Give a mobile number that works, add the wing and flat number in full, and tell the building staff to expect a box. If nobody is home, choose a neighbour or an office address where someone can receive the box on the day.
Open the box as soon as it arrives. Report any damage within 24 hours of delivery by writing to support@alphonsomango.in. For other Mumbai options, see Alphonso mango online Mumbai, Alphonso mango in Navi Mumbai and online mangoes delivery in Thane.
Care after delivery

Mumbai is humid, and ripe fruit softens quickly. Keep the mangoes in a single layer at room temperature, away from direct sun and away from the kitchen stove. Check them each day by smell near the stalk and a gentle press at the shoulder. Once a fruit is as soft as you like, eat it or move it to the fridge for a short time. Do not refrigerate hard, unripe fruit, because it will not ripen well afterwards. Our note on how to ripen Alphonso mangoes at home explains the steps.
Ways to use it
Many Mumbai families time their first Alphonso around Gudi Padwa or Akshaya Tritiya. The fruit is best sliced and eaten as it is. It also makes aamras with puri, lassi, milkshake and ice cream. Our aamras recipe and Hapus ice cream recipe give measured quantities. Mango is a source of vitamin C: 100 g of raw mango provides about 36 mg, roughly 40% of the Daily Value. If you have diabetes or another condition, ask your doctor or dietitian how much mango suits you.
Season and pulp
Fresh Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. Our 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027, and the fresh mango listings show as unavailable until then. Outside the season we do not sell fresh Alphonso, and a seller who offers it then may be selling something else. Ask where it came from.
What is available all year is the pulp tin. The Alphonso Mango Pulp Tin comes in 850 g and 3.1 kg tins, from Rs 590. It suits aamras, shakes and desserts when fresh fruit is out of season.
