Why does a box price look different from a market price? A market quote is usually for loose fruit by weight, with no packing, no courier and no promise about how the fruit was ripened. A box price covers fruit that has been sorted, packed to travel and sent to your door, so the sensible comparison is the total you pay at your doorstep against the total you would pay, including your own trip to the market, for the same count of fruit of the same ripeness.
We have not converted these to per-kg figures. The weight of a box depends on the size of the fruit that season, so the honest way to compare is to count pieces and weigh what arrives. What Surat buyers should know before ordering

Our 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027, and Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. Between seasons, the Alphonso mango pulp tin (850 g and 3.1 kg, from Rs 590) is available all year.
How we ripen, and how to finish Kesar at home
We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller. No home test proves how a mango was ripened; the bucket-of-water test is a rough clue, not proof. Ask any seller directly.
- Keep the mangoes at room temperature in a single layer, away from direct sun.
- A sweet smell near the stalk and a slight give at the shoulder mean ripe.
- Do not refrigerate firm fruit. Once soft, eat it that day or chill it briefly.
- For ras, scoop the pulp and blend with a little milk or nothing at all. Ripe Kesar needs no sugar.
- For a quick shake, blend the pulp of one ripe mango with cold milk and a few ice cubes. Serve it straight away.
- Keep cut fruit in a closed container in the fridge for a day or two.
