Alphonso mango online in Udaipur

Udaipur lies in the Aravalli hills of Rajasthan, far from the Konkan coast where Alphonso grows. The distance is the reason to order carefully, from a seller who can tell you where the fruit was grown and how it was ripened. We are Powle Home Foods in Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. We have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales.

Alphonso mango online Udaipur — GI-tagged Hapus from Ratnagiri

Our Alphonso comes from across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt. It is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, so the tree is not shaken and the fruit is not dropped. Alphonso fruit generally weighs 150 to 300 g, and the pulp is described as rich, creamy and non-fibrous.

Mangoes reach Udaipur through many channels, and the label "Hapus" is used loosely. A seller who can name the place, the variety and the ripening method, and who shows a food licence number, has answered the questions that matter. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller, and our details are on the Brand Facts page.

This page is for Udaipur buyers. It covers delivery, ripening in dry heat, orders for events and hotels, and Kesar, which many Rajasthan families buy alongside Alphonso.

Choosing between Ratnagiri and Devgad

Ratnagiri is a district, and Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district. Both lie on the Konkan coast, and both grow Alphonso. They are the same variety, so we do not rank one above the other. Alphonso from this belt is GI-tagged in India under GI No. 139, and we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).

In practice you choose by grade and by what is listed. Open the Ratnagiri Alphonso page or the Devgad Alphonso page, pick the size, and compare the dozen prices. Both start from Rs 1,849 per dozen, with larger grades costing more. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. Check the product page for today's price.

Delivery to Udaipur

We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. Rajasthan PIN codes follow the same check as the rest of India. We do not promise a delivery day for any named city, because the timing depends on the PIN code and the route.

  • Enter the PIN code first. Do this before you pay, not after.
  • Plan for a receiver. Fruit should not sit outside in the heat of a Rajasthan afternoon.
  • Open the box on arrival. If anything is damaged, report it within 24 hours of delivery to support@alphonsomango.in or on 8369048029.

Neighbouring cities have their own notes, such as our page on mango delivery in Jaipur and our separate page on mangoes delivered in Udaipur.

Ripening in Udaipur's dry heat

We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. No look or smell proves how a mango was ripened, and a bucket-of-water test is only a rough clue, not proof. Ask any seller how the fruit was ripened.

Once the box is home, keep the mangoes at room temperature, away from direct sun and away from a hot window. Summers in Rajasthan are warm and dry, so fruit can soften quickly. Check it daily. A sweet fragrance near the stalk and a slight give near the shoulder tell you it is ready.

  • Do not refrigerate unripe fruit. Cold slows ripening and can dull the flavour.
  • Once soft, eat the mango soon, or chill it briefly.
  • Keep cut fruit in a closed container in the fridge.

Events, hotels and gifting in Udaipur

Udaipur hosts many weddings, family functions and hotel dinners, and mango is a natural dessert for a summer menu. We supply restaurants and hotels, and we also take gift orders. We do not publish fixed terms for bulk orders here. If you need a quantity for an event, write to us with the number of dozens, the dates and the delivery PIN code, and we will answer for your case.

For corporate and gift orders, read our page for hotels and restaurants, our gifting page and the gift form. If you only need the flavour out of season, the Alphonso mango pulp tin is available all year.

A simple plan for your first Udaipur order

Fresh Alphonso is a seasonal, perishable fruit, so a little planning helps. Work through these points before you pay.

  1. Decide the quantity. Count how many people will eat the fruit in the week after delivery. Ripe Alphonso does not keep for long.
  2. Pick the grade. Smaller fruit suits daily eating. Larger fruit suits gifts and dinner tables.
  3. Check the PIN code. Enter it at checkout and read what the page says for your area.
  4. Name a receiver. Someone should be home on the delivery day to open the box.
  5. Keep space ready. A cool, shaded corner away from the sun is enough for ripening.

If you are ordering for an event, allow extra time so the fruit can finish ripening before the date. Write to us if you are unsure how many dozens you need.

Kesar alongside Alphonso

Kesar is a different mango from Gujarat. We sell it too: the half-dozen box is Rs 999 and the dozen is Rs 1,699. Some Udaipur families keep Kesar for daily eating and Alphonso for guests. See our Kesar mango page and the Kesar mango guide for sizes.
