Delivery Across India
Fruit leaves the Mumbai packhouse at 70–80% ripeness — firm enough to survive transit, ripening fully within about three days of delivery. Dispatch is via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees depending on your pin code. Orders placed before 12 noon IST (Monday to Saturday) are dispatched the same day. Delivery takes 1 to 3 days for most PIN codes and 1 to 2 days to most metros, depending on your PIN code. Fresh mangoes are delivered by Blue Dart to more than 4,700 PIN codes.
We cover 15,000–17,000 serviceable pin codes across India.
Each box is a 5-ply corrugated fibreboard (CFB) courier-grade carton with reinforced corners. Every mango sits in a foam-net sleeve that prevents side bruising, skin friction scars and latex cross-contamination during transit. Six air holes top and bottom keep airflow steady so the fruit breathes naturally. The 12-slot partition carries transit pressure — the mangoes do not.
If fruit arrives transit-damaged or quality-failed, photograph or video the fruit and packaging, send it on WhatsApp within 24 hours of delivery, and we dispatch a fresh replacement or credit your account for the next purchase. No physical return is needed.
Where These Mangoes Come From
Prashant Powle sources Alphonso fruit from 48 coastal villages of Ratnagiri and Devgad in the Konkan. For Devgad Alphonso specifically, villages like Jamsande, Vijaydurg, Girye, Kunkeshwar and Mithbav supply most of the fruit. The orchards are sea-facing, typically 12–25 years old, and selected on Brix consistency and alternate-bearing management.
The harvest itself is careful. Each fruit is plucked using a Nutan or Zela pole fitted with a catching net and a cutting mechanism. The tree is never shaken. Fruit never falls. For tall trees, an indigenously developed length-extending pole with a camera guides the harvest. This matters because bruising at harvest triggers spongy tissue — the one defect that has no fix once the fruit is packed.
After harvest, every mango is weighed and graded: Small (150–180 g), Medium (180–225 g), Extra Large (250–275 g) and Jumbo (275–300 g). AI/ML-assisted machine scanning checks each fruit for internal defects including spongy tissue before it reaches a box.
Ratnagiri Alphonso won the Gold Medal at the national One District One Product (ODOP) Awards 2024 — a district-level recognition that reflects the region's standing, not a brand award.
How the Fruit Is Ripened
No carbide. No ethylene chambers. That is not a marketing claim — it is how Aadi (hay-bed) ripening works and has always worked in the Konkan. Fruit travels from the Ratnagiri or Devgad packhouse to Mumbai in air-conditioned vehicles over 10–12 hours. At the Mumbai packhouse, it rests on a hay bed in temperature-controlled rooms for 24–48 hours. The process is monitored. Nothing is gas-triggered.
Fruit is also treated with hot water after harvest to reduce surface issues and extend shelf life — standard post-harvest practice for export-quality Alphonso.
Envirocare Labs Pvt. Ltd. (Thane, NABL accredited, certificate TC-8284) independently tested the fruit. Certificate 01/ETHAP2500044, issued 5 April 2025, shows all 28 residues within Codex maximum residue limits. 27 of 28 were below the limit of quantification (0.01 mg/kg). One residue, thiamethoxam, was detected at 0.013 mg/kg against a Codex limit of 0.2 mg/kg. The fruit is independently tested and all residues are within Codex limits. We do not claim "pesticide-free" — one residue was detected, within limits.

Season and Availability
When are Alphonso mangoes available for delivery?
The Alphonso season runs February to June, with peak availability from March to May. Fresh Alphonso is not sold July to January — the orchards are resting, and we do not source cold-stored fruit to fill that gap. The 2027 mango season starts on 1 February 2027, and fresh mangoes are out of stock until then.
Hapus Mango in Aurangabad — What to Expect
Aurangabad sits roughly 350 km from the Konkan coast. In local markets, fruit often reaches the city after multiple handling stages, which means ripening is unpredictable and the chain of custody is unclear. When you order directly from alphonsomango.in, the chain is: orchard → Ratnagiri or Devgad packhouse → Mumbai packhouse → your door. The full journey from harvest to dispatch takes 48–72 hours.
Nutrition
What nutrients does Alphonso mango provide?
Ripe Alphonso pulp contains roughly 30–36 mg of vitamin C per 100 g. A 100 g serving meets about 40–45% of the ICMR-NIN 2020 recommended daily intake for adult men (80 mg/day) and about 50% for adult women (65 mg/day). Mangiferin, a polyphenol compound in mango, showed anti-inflammatory activity in a cell study by Govindappa et al. (2011).
Alphonso pulp also supplies beta-carotene (the source of its deep orange colour), dietary fibre and natural sugars. The high Brix — 18–24° at full ripeness — means you need less fruit to feel satisfied than with lower-sugar varieties.
Alphonso puree is suitable as a first fruit for babies from about six months old. Keep this as a serving suggestion, not a medical recommendation — every infant is different.
