Minimum order quantity: one dozen Alphonso mangoes
The smallest box of Alphonso you can order from us is one dozen, twelve mangoes. That is how the Ratnagiri Alphonso Mango and Devgad Alphonso Mango pages are set up: you pick a fruit-weight grade, then one or two dozen. Our Alphonso mango order-online page also lists a five-dozen option for larger households and offices.
We are Powle Home Foods, Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. We have sold mangoes since 2019, online since 2020, and have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales. Our Alphonso comes from across 55 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt on the Konkan coast, and we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).
Why a dozen and not a single mango? Alphonso is a delicate fruit that travels by courier. A dozen fills a box so the fruit does not roll, and it keeps the courier charge sensible against the price of the fruit. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. Minimum quantities for Kesar, Pairi and pulp
Not every mango we list starts at a dozen. The table below shows the smallest option on each product page as it stands; prices are "from" prices and change with grade, so check the product page for today's price.

So if you want to try Alphonso flavour without committing to a dozen fresh fruit, the pulp tin is the smallest unit we sell, and it is the only Alphonso product available outside the season. We also list Dasheri, Totapuri, Salem and Malgova on their own product pages in our mango collection.
Grades: the dozen stays the same, the fruit size changes
Alphonso fruits generally weigh 150 to 300 g. Our dozen boxes are graded by fruit weight, and the product page shows each band, from about 150 to 180 g per fruit at the lower end up to 275 to 300 g at the top. The count is always twelve; the weight of the box and the price go up with the grade.
- Smaller grades: good for daily eating and for aamras, where you want more fruit for the money.
- Middle grades: the usual choice for a family box.
- Larger grades: the ones most people pick for gifting, because each fruit looks generous on a plate.
Whatever the grade, the pulp is the same variety: Alphonso pulp is described as rich, creamy and non-fibrous. If you are choosing between a small dozen and a large dozen on a budget, the small grade gives the same taste in more, smaller pieces.
Ratnagiri is a district on the Konkan coast; Devgad is a taluka in neighbouring Sindhudurg district. Both grow the same variety and both fall under GI No. 139, so the minimum quantity, the grades and the starting price are the same on both pages. How many dozen do you need?
A rough rule: count the people who will eat a mango a day, and divide twelve by that number to get the days a box lasts. A household of four eating one each finishes a dozen in three days, which is about the time the last firm fruit takes to ripen, so one dozen every few days suits most families during the season. Two dozen suits a household that also makes aamras or has guests.
Harvest to ripening of Alphonso takes about 15 days, so a box usually arrives with some fruit ready and some still firm. That spread is useful: the firm ones ripen over the next few days while you eat the soft ones. Our guide on ripening Alphonso at home shows how to pace it.

Delivery, damage and the season
We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Orders received before 1 PM are dispatched the same day. Check your PIN code at checkout. We do not promise a delivery day for any named city. Open the box on the day it arrives, and if anything is damaged, report it within 24 hours of delivery by writing to support@alphonsomango.in or calling 8369048029. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller, and our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net.
Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season we do not sell fresh Alphonso; the pulp tin is the product to order in those months. Season dates are explained in our Alphonso mango season guide.
