Alphonso mango home delivery to Mumbai arrives in 1–3 days via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees. GI-tagged Ratnagiri and Devgad Hapus from Powle Home Foods (GI No. 139, AU/5974/GI/139/260) ship March–June, priced from ₹1,849 per box, hay-bed ripened, no carbide.
Buy Alphonso Mango Online — Mumbai
Mumbai has always been the closest city to Konkan country. You can drive to Ratnagiri in five hours or reach Devgad in six. Yet the mangoes you find at Crawford Market or a local fruit vendor are rarely what the GI tag promises — origin is unverifiable, ripening often involves carbide, and the fruit has usually sat in a cold store for days. Home delivery from Powle Home Foods cuts that uncertainty out entirely.

Both carry GI No. 139. Both come from Powle Home Foods' network of 100+ partner farmer families across Konkan. The differences are real but subtle — and repeat-order data from 47,000+ customers tells us north India leans Ratnagiri, while Mumbai customers tend to reach for Devgad.

If you want the richest sugar content the season produces, Devgad fruit from villages like Jamsande, Vijaydurg or Dahibav tends to hit the higher end of that 18–24° Brix range at full ripeness. Ratnagiri fruit from villages like Pawas, Golap or Nachane has a slightly firmer flesh and travels particularly well. Both are dispatched at 70–80% ripeness, firm enough for the courier journey, and ripen fully within about three days of reaching you.
Delivery to Mumbai
The supply chain from harvest to your Mumbai doorstep takes 48–72 hours total. About two hours after hand-harvesting — using a Nutan/Zela pole with a catching net so the fruit never falls or bruises from a drop — the mangoes reach our Ratnagiri or Devgad packhouse. Post-harvest cooling begins immediately. Air-conditioned vehicles carry them 10–12 hours to the Mumbai packhouse, where 24–48 hours of natural hay-bed ripening follows. Then dispatch.
Courier is BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees depending on your pin code. Mumbai metro areas typically receive their boxes within 20–24 hours of dispatch. Outer Mumbai and MMR suburbs fall within 1–3 days. We cover 15,000–17,000 serviceable pin codes across India.
Each box is 5-ply corrugated fibreboard (CFB), 130 gsm, courier-grade with reinforced corners. A 12-slot partition carries transit pressure so the fruit doesn't bear it. Every mango sits in a foam-net sleeve (flat width 50–55 mm, length 100–120 mm by fruit size) on a hay/straw bed — the diamond mesh keeps airflow, which prevents condensation and the anthracnose it can trigger. Six air holes, top and bottom, assist natural ripening in transit.
If your box arrives and some fruit seems unripe: leave it at room temperature for two to three days. That is expected — 70–80% ripeness at dispatch is by design, not a defect. If any fruit is transit-damaged or fails on quality, photograph or video it and send via WhatsApp within 24 hours of delivery. No physical return is needed. We dispatch a fresh replacement or credit your account for the next purchase.
One honest limit: we do not ship fresh Alphonso between July and January. The trees bear no fruit then. Any site claiming to deliver fresh Hapus in November is not delivering what you think.
How to Order
- Select your variety and grade. Choose between Ratnagiri Alphonso (₹1,849–₹5,399) and Devgad Alphonso (₹1,849–₹5,499). Pick your box size — half dozen, one dozen or two dozen — based on how many people you are feeding or gifting.
- Add to cart and check out. Enter your Mumbai delivery address and pin code. The site confirms courier availability at your pin code before you pay.
- We dispatch. BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees picks up the box; most Mumbai addresses receive delivery in 1–3 days from dispatch date.
Where the Fruit Comes From
Prashant Powle founded AlphonsoMango.in in 2017 and registered Powle Home Foods in July 2019. The network now spans 55 named villages across Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts — though our site copy says 48+ as the count continues to grow. On the Ratnagiri side, orchards in Pawas, Golap, Nachane, Mavalange, Waravade, Purnagad and Mirya supply the bulk. Devgad-side fruit comes from Jamsande, Vijaydurg, Dahibav, Hindale, Kanyabag and Padel, among others.
Partner orchards are typically 12–25 years old, sea-facing, and selected on Brix consistency, tree longevity and how the farmer manages alternate-bearing years. Cultivation follows strict SOPs on which natural sprays and fertilisers are used from flowering to harvest. Envirocare Labs Pvt. Ltd. (Thane, NABL-accredited, certificate TC-8284) tested this season's fruit — all 28 pesticide residues were within Codex maximum residue limits; 27 of 28 were below the limit of quantification (0.01 mg/kg). The one detected residue, thiamethoxam, came in at 0.013 mg/kg against a permitted limit of 0.2 mg/kg. Independently tested; all residues within Codex limits.
Before packing, every fruit is weighed and graded, then scanned by an AI/ML-assisted machine that checks for internal conditions (including spongy tissue) and external deformities. What doesn't pass doesn't ship.
How We Ripen the Mangoes
Natural hay-bed (Aadi) ripening only, in temperature-controlled rooms — no ethylene chambers, no calcium carbide, no artificial ripening agents of any kind. The 24–48 hours at the Mumbai packhouse is natural ripening on hay, monitored, not gas-triggered. This is the method Konkan farmers have used for generations; it produces the saffron-coloured flush and the thin, aromatic skin that calcium carbide cannot replicate.
Carbide-ripened mangoes typically show uniform yellow all over, often within 24 hours of purchase. Naturally ripened Alphonso ripens patch by patch — you will see green shoulders giving way to golden-yellow over two to three days. The fragrance builds gradually. The texture softens from the tip inward. That sequence is how you know.
What Is the Brix Level of Alphonso Mango?
Brix measures dissolved sugars. At full ripeness, Alphonso from our network reads 18–24° Brix. Devgad fruit from villages like Vijaydurg and Jamsande tends to sit at the upper end of that range in a good season. The 2025 season was particularly difficult — Prashant Powle discussed the weather and yield pressures in The Economic Times (June 2026) — but Brix held within that verified range across harvested fruit.
Storage After Delivery
When your box arrives, open it immediately and check the fruit. If the mangoes are 70–80% ripe (firm, slight give at the tip), leave them on the counter at room temperature. Do not refrigerate unripe Alphonso — cold interrupts the ripening and dulls the flavour. Once fully ripe (deep golden, fragrant, yielding to gentle pressure), you can refrigerate for up to two days and consume chilled. Beyond that, the flesh breaks down quickly.
Ripe Alphonso pulp contains roughly 30–36 mg of vitamin C per 100 g — a 100 g serving meets about 40–45% of the ICMR-NIN 2020 RDA for adult men (80 mg/day) and about 50% for adult women (65 mg/day). Mangiferin, a polyphenol concentrated in the peel and kernel, has shown anti-inflammatory activity in cell studies (Govindappa et al., 2011). Eat the fruit; don't waste the skin if you are making aamras.
