Order Alphonso mango fruit online: what we offer
We are Powle Home Foods in Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. We have sold mangoes since 2019, online since 2020, and have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales. We source Alphonso (Hapus) from across 55 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt on the Konkan coast. Alphonso from this belt is GI-tagged in India under GI No. 139, and we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).

- Ratnagiri Alphonso Mango from Rs 1,849 per dozen, with larger grades costing more.
- Devgad Alphonso Mango from Rs 1,849 per dozen, likewise.
- Alphonso mango, one-dozen listing, a one-dozen listing for a simple first order.
- Alphonso mango pulp tin for use outside the season (850 g and 3.1 kg, from Rs 590).
Check the product page for today's price. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade; fruits generally weigh 150 to 300 g each.
Ratnagiri or Devgad: how to choose
Ratnagiri is a district on the Konkan coast; Devgad is a taluka in the neighbouring Sindhudurg district. Both grow the same Alphonso (Hapus), both are covered by the same GI, and we do not rank one above the other. We also do not claim that one ripens earlier or tastes sweeter. What differs is the product page, the grade options and the price.

Grades, quantity and gifting
Alphonso is graded by fruit weight, so read the weight band on the product page. Smaller grades suit everyday eating, aamras and shakes. Larger grades look better in a gift box and cost more per dozen. For a family of four, one dozen is a sensible first order, since ripe mangoes do not keep long.

We also supply restaurants and hotels, and we take gifting orders. For anything beyond a few dozen, write to us before the season so we can plan grade and dates; see our minimum order guide and corporate gifting guide.
Delivery and how the box arrives
We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Orders received before 1 PM are dispatched the same day. Check your PIN code at checkout. We do not promise a delivery day for any named city, because it depends on the PIN code and the courier route. Give an address where a person can receive a perishable box on a working day.
Harvest to ripening of Alphonso takes about 15 days, so some fruit in a box may arrive firm. Take the mangoes out, lay them in a single layer at room temperature, away from sun, and check daily. A sweet smell at the stalk and a slight give at the shoulder mean ripe. Do not refrigerate firm fruit; chill only once it is soft. Open the box on the day it arrives, and if anything is damaged, report it within 24 hours of delivery to support@alphonsomango.in or 8369048029.

How we ripen the fruit, and how to verify a seller
We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller. Our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net.

Whoever you buy from, ask three questions: can they show a GI Authorised User number, do they hold an FSSAI licence, and how do they ripen the fruit? Ours is GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139). No home test proves how a mango was ripened; the bucket-of-water test is a rough clue, not proof. Our guide on identifying authentic Hapus lists what to look for.
A short checklist before you order
- Confirm the variety and origin on the listing: Alphonso (Hapus) from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt.
- Read the weight band, not just the dozen count, and compare like with like when you compare sellers.
- Ask how the fruit is ripened. Ours is ripened on hay beds, never with carbide.
- Check the seller's GI Authorised User number and FSSAI licence.
- Enter your PIN code at checkout and read the delivery message it shows.
- Plan who will receive the box, and where you will lay out the fruit to ripen.
That is all there is to it. Most problems with online mango orders come from skipping one of these steps, usually the last two: nobody is home when the box arrives, or the fruit stays sealed in the carton for days. Open the box as soon as it arrives, spread the mangoes out, and eat them as they ripen. If you are gifting, tell the recipient to do the same, and do not leave the carton in a hot car or a closed room, because heat speeds up ripening and shortens the time the fruit stays good.
Season and what to eat it with
