The minimum quantity you can order at AlphonsoMango.in is one dozen — 12 mangoes. That is our packing unit. Orders ship via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees and reach most Indian cities in 1–3 days during the February–June season.
Buy Alphonso Mangoes — Minimum One Dozen
The minimum quantity you can order is one dozen — 12 mangoes. Our 5-ply corrugated box holds a 12-slot partition that carries transit pressure so the fruit does not. Smaller quantities do not work with that partition design, and they raise the per-fruit risk of bruising during a 1–3 day courier journey from Konkan to your door.
You can order multiples: half dozen is not available for fresh fruit; one dozen, two dozen, and larger HoReCa or corporate quantities (from five dozen upward) are. Pick your grade — Small (150–180 g), Medium (180–225 g), Extra Large (250–275 g), or Jumbo (275–300 g) — and the box size adjusts accordingly.

Repeat-order data from 47,000+ customers shows a clear pattern: buyers in north India lean toward Ratnagiri; Mumbai buyers lean toward Devgad. Neither is "better" — they are different expressions of GI No. 139 from different coastal microclimates in Konkan.
Delivery Across India
Every box leaves our Mumbai packhouse via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees — the courier depends on your pin code. Metro cities typically receive the order in 20–24 hours. Most other Indian cities receive it in 1–3 days. We service 15,000–17,000 pin codes.
Fruit is dispatched at 70–80% ripeness — firm enough to survive transit, ripe within roughly three days of delivery. The 5-ply corrugated fibreboard box uses 130 gsm paper with alternate flute orientation and reinforced corners. Every mango travels in a foam-net sleeve (flat width 50–55 mm) that prevents skin friction, stem puncture and latex cross-contamination between neighbouring fruits. Six air holes on the top and bottom panels keep airflow moving so the fruit ripens evenly after you receive it.
If any fruit arrives damaged, we replace it at 100% — photo evidence within 24 hours of delivery is required.
We do not dispatch fresh Alphonso between July and January. Order during the February–June season only.
How Many Mangoes Does a Family Need?
A nuclear family of four — two adults, two children — typically eats six to eight mangoes a day across lunch and dinner. One dozen lasts roughly two days at that rate. Two dozen covers a full week with some left for guests or a batch of aamras.
Place your order two to three days before you want the fruit. That buffer accounts for transit and the final ripening stage at room temperature in your kitchen.
What if I want to send mangoes as a gift?
18% of our orders are gifts. One dozen is a considered gift; two dozen is generous. Both ship in the same courier-grade corrugated box. There is no gift-wrap surcharge — the box itself is clean and presentable.

Authenticity and Sourcing
Powle Home Foods holds GI Authorised User status AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139, Registry Certificate 4163, issued 16 October 2019). That number is the only government-issued credential in India that permits a trader to label mangoes as GI-certified Alphonso. Without it, "GI Alphonso" on a label is a claim, not a fact.
Founder Prashant Powle sources from 55 named villages across Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts — including Pawas, Golap and Nachane in Ratnagiri taluka, and Devgad, Jamsande and Vijaydurg in Devgad taluka. Every orchard in the network is 12–25 years old and selected on Brix consistency, tree longevity and alternate-bearing management. More than 100 partner farmer families supply the fruit.
Prashant Powle was interviewed by The Economic Times in June 2026 on weather stress and yield pressures facing GI-certified growers this season — one of the few trader-growers in Konkan quoted by name on the subject.
Residue testing runs weekly through the season at Envirocare Labs Pvt. Ltd., Thane (NABL accredited, certificate TC-8284). The April 2025 panel (01/ETHAP2500044, issued 5 April 2025) found all 28 tested residues within Codex maximum residue limits; 27 of 28 were below the limit of quantification (0.01 mg/kg). We describe the fruit as independently tested with all residues within Codex limits — not "pesticide-free", because one residue (thiamethoxam, 0.013 mg/kg against a 0.2 mg/kg limit) was detected.
How We Ripen and Pack
Harvest is by hand, using a Nutan or Zela pole fitted with a catching net and cutting blade. The tree is never shaken. Fruit never falls. For tall trees, an indigenously developed length-extending pole with a camera lets the harvester see the stem angle before cutting.
From the tree, the journey runs like this: two hours to the Ratnagiri or Devgad packhouse, post-harvest hot-water treatment and cooling, 10–12 hours by air-conditioned vehicle to the Mumbai packhouse, then 24–48 hours of natural hay-bed (Aadi) ripening in temperature-controlled rooms. Total time from harvest to dispatch: 48–72 hours.
There are no ethylene chambers here. No calcium carbide. No artificial ripening agents of any kind. The hay-bed ripening at Mumbai is monitored, not gas-triggered. That distinction matters if you are feeding young children — Alphonso puree is suitable as a serving suggestion for babies from about six months, per our product FAQ.
Before packing, every fruit passes AI/ML-assisted machine scanning for internal defects including spongy tissue, and external deformities. Then it is weighed, graded, sleeved in a foam net and packed into a 12-slot partition box.
Season and Availability
The Alphonso season runs February to June, with peak supply in March, April and May. By late June, yields drop sharply as the monsoon arrives on the Konkan coast. From July through January, we do not sell fresh Alphonso — the fruit is simply not available in the quality the GI standard requires.
If you land on this page in August, bookmark it and return in February. The season is not long. Ratnagiri Alphonso won the Gold Medal at the national ODOP Awards 2024 — that recognition reflects how compressed and precious the window is. You get one shot per year.
