Alphonso mangoes delivery in PCMC
PCMC is the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area, a large industrial and residential city next to Pune in Pune district. Its PIN codes usually start with 411, like Pune's. The Konkan coast, where Alphonso grows, lies on the other side of the Sahyadri hills, so the fruit has to cross the ghats before it reaches you.

Ratnagiri or Devgad: what to know before you order
Ratnagiri is a district, and Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district. Both lie on the Konkan coast, and both grow Alphonso. They are the same variety, so we do not rank one above the other. Pick the one you recognise, or order a dozen of each and compare them at home.
- GI tag. Alphonso from this belt is GI-tagged in India under GI No. 139. We hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).
- Harvest. Fruit is cut before dawn at Brahma Muhurta, by hand, with a zela pole fitted with a catching net. The tree is not shaken and the fruit is not dropped.
- Size. Alphonso generally weighs 150 to 300 g. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade.
- Pulp. The pulp is described as rich, creamy and non-fibrous.

How the fruit is ripened
We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. Keeping the fruit after delivery
Pune district is warm through the Alphonso season, with cooler evenings in early March. Mangoes that arrive firm will soften over a few days, and the pace depends on the weather in your home.
- Unpack on the day. Take the mangoes out of the box and look at each one.
- Ripen at room temperature, away from direct sun. Do not refrigerate unripe fruit.
- Check daily. A sweet smell near the stalk and a slight give near the shoulder are the usual signs.
- Chill once soft if you cannot eat it soon, and keep cut fruit in a closed container in the fridge.

Planning your first order
If you are new to ordering Alphonso online, keep the first order simple. One dozen is enough to learn how the fruit behaves in your home and how fast your family eats it. Choose a smaller grade for everyday eating, aamras and children, and a larger grade if the mangoes are a gift. Order for a day when someone will be at home, because fruit is better unpacked at once than left in a hallway.

Alphonso is harvested about February to June, and the best supply runs from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season fresh Alphonso is not sold, because the trees give one crop a year.
