Authentic GI-tagged Ratnagiri and Devgad Alphonso (Hapus) mangoes packed in natural hay inside a delivery box, featuring a quality checklist — AlphonsoMango.in online order dispatch.

To buy Alphonso mangoes online safely, check four things first: the belt of origin, the grade in the box, how the fruit was ripened, and whom to contact. AlphonsoMango.in sells GI-certified Ratnagiri and Devgad Hapus by the dozen from Rs 1,849, delivered by Blue Dart.

A checklist before you buy Alphonso mangoes online

We are Powle Home Foods, Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. We would rather you buy carefully from anyone than carelessly from us, so here is the list we would use ourselves. Any seller who answers all of it clearly is worth a first order.

Buy authentic Ratnagiri Alphonso mango GI tagged certified Hapus Aam — AlphonsoMango.in
  1. Origin. Which belt is the fruit from? Alphonso from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt of the Konkan carries GI No. 139. Ours is sourced across 48 villages there, and we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).
  2. Grade. Is the price for a dozen of one weight band, or for mixed fruit? A dozen of one grade tells you what you get; a "box" with no grade does not.
  3. Ripening. Natural on hay, or forced? A seller who cannot answer in one sentence has not thought about it.
  4. Licence. FSSAI licence number on the site or invoice.
  5. Contact. An email address and a phone number that are answered, and a stated window for reporting damage.
  6. Season. Fresh Alphonso offered outside about February to June is not from the Konkan harvest. Ask where it was grown.

Our answers to every line are on the Brand Facts page. The full set of dos and don'ts is in dos and don'ts for buying Alphonso online.

Things that should make you pause

  • A single per-kg price for "Alphonso". Grade changes the fruit count per kilo from three to seven, so one per-kg number hides what you are buying. We quote per dozen of one grade and do not publish per-kg rates.
  • "Ready to eat" fruit shipped by courier. Fully ripe Alphonso bruises in transit. Fruit should arrive firm and ripen at home over two or three days.
  • Fresh Alphonso in the monsoon or winter. We do not sell fresh Alphonso outside the season; the 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027.
  • Photos without a grade or origin in the listing. A photograph proves nothing about the box you will receive.
  • No reporting window. Ours is simple: damage should be reported within 24 hours of delivery to support@alphonsomango.in or 8369048029.

None of these is proof of a bad seller on its own; they are questions to ask before you pay, not accusations. What no buyer can do is prove ripening or origin at home. The bucket-of-water test is a rough clue, not proof. Our guide to how to identify an Alphonso mango covers what you can check by eye and nose.

Buying Alphonso online in Mumbai

Mumbai is the one city where buying Hapus online needs a reason, because the fruit has always come to the city by road from the Konkan and sold through Crawford Market, the Vashi APMC and every corner stall from Dadar to Borivali. The reason is the same as anywhere else: a graded dozen from a named belt, with the ripening method and the paperwork stated, versus a loose lot of unknown origin at a rate that changes by the hour.

We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane PIN codes are well within the courier network, but the estimate shown at checkout for your own PIN code is the only timing we stand behind, and we do not promise a delivery day for the city. Our pages on Alphonso mango in Mumbai and Hapus mango price in Mumbai go into the city in more detail.

How we ripen, and how you finish the job

We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller. The harvest is done by hand, pre-dawn, with a pole and net so the fruit is not dropped; from harvest to a ripe mango takes about two weeks.

At home, lay the fruit in a single layer at room temperature away from sun and check it daily. A sweet smell at the stalk and a slight give at the shoulder mean ripe. Do not refrigerate unripe fruit. Our page on ripening Alphonso at home has the method, and Ratnagiri and Devgad Hapus compared explains the two belts.

After you order

You get an order confirmation by email. When the box arrives, open it on arrival, count the fruit, and take it out of the carton. Report any damage within 24 hours of delivery. Then wait: the first fruit is usually ready in two or three days, and a dozen of one grade tends to ripen within a few days of each other, so plan to eat or share them over about a week.

We have sold mangoes since 2019, online since 2020, to 47,000+ customers including offline and marketplace sales. We supply households, and also restaurants and hotels; larger orders can be discussed by email. The ordering guide shows each checkout screen, and shipping charges explains the courier cost.
