Keshar Amba Online: Buy Authentic Gir Kesar

By Prashant Powle  •  0 comments  •   7 minute read

An open box of authentic Gir Kesar mangoes (GI Tag No. 185) from AlphonsoMango.in, packed in natural grass, with sliced and whole saffron-hued mangoes on a rustic wooden table.

Before buying Keshar amba online, check five things: the GI name (Gir Kesar, Mangifera indica 'Kesar', GI Tag No. 185), the source district, the ripening method, the pack format and the replacement terms. Fresh Kesar is out of stock as of 12 October 2026.

Key takeaways

  • Keshar amba, Kesar amba, Kesariya aam and Gir Kesar describe the same mango; the protected name is Gir Kesar, GI Tag No. 185.
  • A GI tag protects the name and region. It does not prove the quality of one box or the honesty of one seller.
  • Ask any seller for the source district, the ripening method and the written replacement terms.
  • AlphonsoMango.in lists Kesar from Junagadh district, Gujarat; fresh fruit is out of stock as of 12 October 2026.

What does the Gir Kesar GI tag mean for a buyer?

A Geographical Indication links a product name to a region. Gir Kesar holds GI Tag No. 185, which is separate from Alphonso (GI No. 139). (Source: GI Registry of India.) For a buyer, the tag is a starting point: it means the name Gir Kesar is tied to a region, but the buyer still has to check the seller. Read our Junagadh Kesar mango guide for background on the region.

Brix range and quality testing

Testing. Powle Home Foods schedules weekly carbide and pesticide-residue testing from the 2027 season. The one third-party report published so far is from Envirocare Labs (NABL accredited), dated 5 April 2025, on an Alphonso sample from an export consignment: all 28 residues tested were within Codex limits. That report applies to that sample only; it is not a guarantee for other batches. Ask on WhatsApp which test records exist for the lot you are considering.
