Alphonso Mango In Uttar Pradesh: Exquisite Taste of Uttar Pradesh - AlphonsoMango.in

Alphonso mango in Uttar Pradesh is a Konkan coast fruit, and we send GI-certified Ratnagiri and Devgad Alphonso from Mumbai by Blue Dart, sold by the dozen from Rs 1,849. UP has many PIN codes, so check yours at checkout.

Alphonso mango in Uttar Pradesh: a coastal fruit in a mango state

Uttar Pradesh has mangoes of its own, and people there are proud of them. The belt around Lucknow is well known for local varieties, and many UP families have a favourite they grew up with. Alphonso is a different fruit from a different place. It grows on the Konkan coast of Maharashtra, far to the south-west, so a box in Agra, Lucknow or Varanasi has made a long journey. We think of it as a second mango to try, not a rival to the local one.

Alphonso mangoes in Uttar Pradesh — Hapus from Ratnagiri and Devgad

We are Powle Home Foods in Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. Our fruit is sourced across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt. We started selling offline in 2019 and online in 2020, and we have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales. This page is for buyers anywhere in Uttar Pradesh, and it explains what the fruit is, how it reaches the state, and how to order with a PIN code check.

Alphonso, Hapus and Hapus aam

In Maharashtra the same fruit is called Hapus, and in Hindi-speaking states you will hear Hapus aam or simply Alphonso. All three names mean the mango grown on the Konkan coast. Alphonso is the English name that most UP buyers search for, so we use it here.

Hapus aam in Uttar Pradesh — naturally ripened Alphonso Hapus delivered to UP

We sell two origins. Ratnagiri is a district, and Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district. Both are the same variety. We do not say that one is sweeter or ripens earlier, and we do not rank them. A UP household that wants to compare can order one dozen of each, and the two product pages show the box sizes and starting prices: Ratnagiri Alphonso Mango and Devgad Alphonso Mango.

Both are GI-certified Alphonso. We hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139). The registry record for the Devgad application is listed in our sources below. The tag ties the name to an area, so it helps you ask a seller where the fruit actually grew.

Price: how a dozen is priced

What decides the price of a dozen
Choice How it affects the price
Fruit size Alphonso fruit generally weighs 150 to 300 g, and larger fruit costs more per dozen.
Number of dozens The total rises with each dozen you add.
Starting price Alphonso boxes start from Rs 1,849 per dozen.
Largest option The largest Ratnagiri option goes up to Rs 5,399.

We sell by the dozen, so we do not give a per-kilogram price. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. Check the product page for the current price, because prices can change. When you compare us with a local seller, compare dozen with dozen, and ask for the count and the size. Our Alphonso mango price in India guide explains the same comparison for the whole country.

Delivery across Uttar Pradesh

We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. We do not promise a delivery day for any named city or district. Uttar Pradesh is a large state with a great many PIN codes, from big cities to small towns, and they can differ from one another. The only reliable check is the one at checkout, so enter your PIN code before you pay.

  • Use the PIN code printed on your address, not the code of the nearest big city.
  • Add a landmark and a phone number that will be answered, because the courier may call before the visit.
  • Pick a delivery address where someone will be home, since a fruit box should not wait outside in the heat.
  • Open the box on the day it arrives and look at each fruit. If anything is damaged, report it to us within 24 hours of delivery.

We have separate pages for some UP cities, because the questions differ from place to place. You can read our pages on Alphonso mango in Lucknow, online mangoes delivery in Kanpur and Alphonso mango online in Noida.

Ripening a box in the heat of UP

Much of the Alphonso season is also the hot season in the plains, and warmth speeds ripening. Keep the box in the coolest, shaded room in the house, out of direct sun and away from a hot kitchen. Look at the fruit every day. Fruit in a warm room can go from firm to soft faster than you expect. Do not put firm fruit in the fridge, because cold slows ripening and can dull the flavour. Once a mango is soft and fragrant, you can refrigerate it for a short while.

Wikipedia notes that Alphonso takes about 15 days from harvest to ripening, so a box that arrives firm still has some way to go. That is normal for fruit that has to travel. Our guide to ripening Alphonso mangoes at home covers the stages.

How to check that Alphonso in UP is genuine

In season, Alphonso reaches UP markets and apps by many routes, and the label alone does not tell you much. It is fair to ask every seller the same short list of questions.

Premium Alphonso mango from Konkan sourced for delivery across India including Uttar Pradesh
  1. Which district did it grow in? Ratnagiri or Devgad is a clear answer. "Konkan" or "Hapus" alone is not.
  2. Who holds the GI papers? Ask for the authorised user number. Ours is AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139), listed on our Brand Facts page.
  3. How was it ripened? Selling fruit ripened with calcium carbide gas is prohibited in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds.
  4. How many fruits, and what size? A dozen is 12 fruits.

No home test proves how a mango was ripened, and a bucket of water only gives a rough clue. Our Alphonso mango GI tag guide explains what the tag covers, and our guide to identifying authentic Hapus mango lists more clues.

Season, and what to buy between seasons

Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season we do not sell fresh Alphonso, and the fresh mango listings stay closed until the new crop.

Between seasons, our Alphonso mango pulp tin is available all year in 850 g and 3.1 kg sizes from Rs 590. It is not a swap for a fresh dozen, but it works for aamras, milkshakes and desserts. For gifts to UP addresses, or for a large order, write to us with the quantity, the areas and the dates and we will tell you what is possible. We also supply restaurants and hotels.
