Goa is next door to the Alphonso belt, and yet many Goan households still ask where to find genuine Hapus. The reason is simple: Alphonso for sale in Goa may come from anywhere, and a buyer needs to know which orchard region it came from and how it was ripened. The Goa connection to the Alphonso
The Alphonso variety is named after Afonso de Albuquerque, and mango grafting was introduced in Portuguese Goa by Jesuit missionaries. The variety is propagated by grafting, because Indian-group mango cultivars are monoembryonic, and that is how named varieties stay true. So the name on the box has a Goan story behind it, even though the fruit we send grows on the Konkan coast of Maharashtra.
Devgad taluka lies in Sindhudurg district, which is the district just north of Goa. Ratnagiri is a district further up the same coast. Alphonso from this belt is GI-tagged in India (GI No. 139), and we hold the GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139). Goan mangoes and Konkan Alphonso
Goa has mangoes of its own. Mankurad, also written Malcorada, is the best-known local variety. We do not sell Goan mangoes, so we will not compare them with ours. What we sell is Alphonso from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt, plus Kesar from Gujarat, which is a separate variety with orange pulp, Rs 999 for a half dozen and Rs 1,699 for a dozen on the Kesar Mango page.
If you want the Konkan Hapus, order the Alphonso. If you want a variety that is closer to the Gujarat kitchen, order Kesar. Both are sold by the dozen, and neither is a cheaper form of the other.

Both are the same variety. We do not say one is sweeter or ripens earlier, and we do not rank them. Pick by the size of the fruit and your budget.
Sizes and price from Rs 1,849
Although Goa is close to the orchard belt, nothing about the fruit changes with the destination: every Alphonso we send is harvested the same way, by hand at Brahma Muhurta, and the order decides only the size grade and the number of dozens. An Alphonso fruit generally weighs 150 to 300 g, and a dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. Prices start from Rs 1,849 per dozen and go up to Rs 5,399 for the largest Ratnagiri option. Pairi starts from Rs 2,799 per dozen. We sell by the dozen and do not quote a price per kilogram, so compare a Goan market price by fruit count and size and not only by the rupee figure. Ordering to Goa, step by step
- Choose the product and dozens. Select Ratnagiri, Devgad, Kesar or Pairi.
- Enter your Goa address and PIN code at checkout. Goa is a small state, but the PIN code still decides the result.
- Read the delivery line. We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout.
- Check the box when it arrives. If anything is damaged, report it to us within 24 hours of delivery.

Ripening and storage in Goa's warm weather
Our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, at Brahma Muhurta, the pre-dawn hour. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Selling fruit ripened with calcium carbide gas is prohibited under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011.
Alphonso takes about 15 days from harvest to ripening, so a box that arrives firm is normal. Goa is warm, and warm rooms ripen fruit quickly. Check the box every day, and keep it out of direct sun. Season dates and the off-season option
Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season we do not sell fresh Alphonso, and the fresh listings stay closed until the new crop.
