Why "annual" needs a second look for mangoes
Fresh Alphonso runs, usually, from February to June. The 2027 season is listed to start on 1 February 2027; check the product page for live dates. So an annual gifting programme is a contract with a season at its heart, plus possibly some non-seasonal items such as pulp for the other months. Call it by its right name and the paperwork gets easier.
Many gifting contracts fail on one assumption: that fruit behaves like a gift card. It does not. Fruit ripens on arrival, ripeness matters to the recipient and a box delivered to an empty office is a box wasted.

Budgeting with a worked example
Illustrative, using retail dozen prices as a reference. A firm gifts 150 key clients one dozen each. Medium (180-220 g) at ₹2,099 costs 150 x ₹2,099 = ₹3,14,850. Large (225-250 g) at ₹2,499 costs ₹3,74,850. The difference of ₹60,000 is the price of a better first impression for every client. Add a handful of premium jumbo boxes (₹2,999 a dozen) for the top ten clients and you have a tiered scheme without a custom order.

Address lists and receiving
This is where programmes go wrong. Fresh mangoes ship only to serviceable PIN codes (a few thousand PIN codes are not served today, so check your list first). Collect, for each recipient: full address with landmark, a mobile number that will be answered, a working-hours note, and an alternate receiver. Send tracking links by email and WhatsApp; fresh fruit must be received on the first attempt because re-attempts hurt it.
Spread deliveries. Sending 150 boxes to the same building on one day is an invitation to a pile-up at the mailroom. Stagger by city and by day. Allow for the ripening period: a box landing Monday is best eaten from Thursday.
Quality and claims
Put the spec in the contract: origin (Ratnagiri or Devgad), weight band, semi-ripe on arrival. Under our return policy, a damage or quality claim on fresh fruit must reach us within 24 hours of delivery with photos or video and the order number. That window is short, so appoint someone at your end to check boxes the day they land and to forward claims. Normal ripening variation and natural size mix within a grade are not faults.
Ripening and the carbide question
A gift that sickens a client is a contract-ending event. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. It releases acetylene and can carry arsenic and phosphorus impurities. Controlled ethylene up to 100 ppm is the permitted alternative; check fssai.gov.in for the current text.
We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally (on hay beds, as our FAQ states). White or grey powder in a carton, patchy skin and a sour, starchy taste are warnings. The float test is a rough clue only; a lab test is the proof, and you can ask about testing in your enquiry.
