Alphonso mango in Gurgaon: what local buyers should know
Gurgaon, also called Gurugram, sits in Haryana and forms part of Delhi NCR. Mango season there runs on the same calendar as the rest of north India, but the fruit has to travel a long way from the Konkan coast. That journey, and the way the fruit is handled before it reaches a gated society or an office floor, decides how an Alphonso tastes when you cut it.

We are Powle Home Foods, a Mumbai seller, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. This page is written for Gurgaon households and offices. It covers what to ask when you shop, how our delivery works, what to do with the box in a hot, air-conditioned flat, and how gifting orders work. If you shop across NCR, our pages on Alphonso mango in Delhi and Alphonso in Delhi NCR cover the wider region.
Where Gurgaon buyers shop for Alphonso
Gurgaon buyers have more routes to Alphonso than most cities: fruit sellers in market lanes, supermarket counters, quick-delivery apps, and direct online sellers. All of them can be good or poor, and a label like "premium" or "export quality" tells you little. The useful comparison is what each route lets you check before you pay.
| Route | What you can see | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Market or roadside seller | The fruit itself, which you can smell and handle. | Variety, place of origin, ripening method, count per dozen. |
| Supermarket counter | Packed fruit with a label. | Whether the label names Ratnagiri or Devgad and the grade. |
| Quick-delivery app | A photo and a listing. | Who the actual seller is and where the fruit was grown. |
| Direct online seller | Product page, grade, licence and certificate details. | Delivery partner, PIN code coverage, and how to report damage. |
No smell or colour proves where a mango came from. The reliable checks are the answers a seller gives and the paperwork. Our guide on identifying real Alphonso lists the questions in more detail.
What we send to Gurgaon: Ratnagiri and Devgad Alphonso

Alphonso, also called Hapus, is a mango variety from the Konkan coast of Maharashtra. Ratnagiri is a district, and Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district. Both places grow the same variety, so we do not rank one above the other. We source across 48 villages of that belt, and our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net.
We hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139). The details sit on our Brand Facts page. Boxes sell from Rs 1,849 per dozen, and a dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. Open the Ratnagiri Alphonso or Devgad Alphonso page for the grade options and the price on the day you order.
Delivery to Gurgaon
We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. We never promise next-day delivery for a named city, so the PIN code check is the step that matters. Gurgaon is large, with many sectors, societies and office towers, and coverage can differ between PIN codes.
- Give a number that answers: society gates and office receptions often hold parcels, so a reachable phone number helps the courier.
- Plan who receives it: a box of fresh fruit should not sit in a hot hallway or a security cabin for long.
- Open it on the day: check the fruit and report any damage within 24 hours of delivery.
Our shipping policy has the general terms. For Delhi pricing questions, see our mango price in Delhi guide.
How Hapus is ripened, and why it matters

We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller.
Wikipedia puts the gap between harvest and ripening of Alphonso at about 15 days. That is a long wait, and it is the reason a fruit that turns yellow in two days deserves a question to the seller. We say this as a clue and not as proof, since no single test shows how a mango was ripened.
Keeping mangoes well in a Gurgaon flat
Most homes in the city run air conditioning for months, and cold dry air is not kind to fruit that is still ripening. These are general handling tips, and they apply to Alphonso from any seller.
- Keep unripe fruit at room temperature, out of direct sun and out of the cold draught of an AC vent.
- Do not refrigerate a mango that is still firm. Chilling slows ripening and can dull the flavour.
- When the fruit is soft and fragrant near the stalk, eat it, or chill it for a short while.
- Freeze extra pulp in small portions. If you need pulp out of season, our Alphonso mango pulp tin is available all year.
Our guide to ripening Alphonso goes through the steps.
Season dates and gifting from Gurgaon
Alphonso is harvested about February to June, and the best supply is from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Fresh Alphonso is not sold outside the season, while Alphonso pulp tins are available all year.
Gurgaon has a strong office and housewarming gifting habit. If you are ordering for one family, the product pages are enough. If you are ordering for several addresses, write to us with the quantity, the cities and the dates you need, and we will tell you what is possible. We supply restaurants and hotels as well. When you write, include these details so we can answer properly:
- How many dozens you need and which grade you prefer.
- Every delivery address with its PIN code, since coverage is checked by PIN code.
- The date the fruit has to arrive and who will receive it.
Our corporate gifting guide and gifting page have the details.
