By Prashant Powle  •   7 minute read

A box of fresh, GI-tagged Ratnagiri Hapus mangoes packed in hay, alongside a delivery executive handing a sealed AlphonsoMango.in box to a smiling customer at her doorstep, highlighting authentic, carbide-free Alphonso home delivery across India.

Ratnagiri Hapus mango home delivery from AlphonsoMango.in works by the dozen: choose a fruit grade on the product page, enter your PIN code at checkout and we dispatch by Blue Dart. Prices start from Rs 1,849 per dozen, in season from February to June.

How Ratnagiri Hapus home delivery works

Home delivery of a fresh fruit is different from home delivery of a packet of almonds. The fruit is alive, it keeps ripening in the box, and the address you give decides how smoothly the last mile goes. This page explains the whole chain for a Ratnagiri Hapus order, from the product page to the fruit bowl, so there are no surprises.

We are Powle Home Foods, Mumbai, the business behind AlphonsoMango.in. We have sold Hapus since 2019, online since 2020, to 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales. Fruit is sourced across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt on the Konkan coast, and we hold the GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).

  1. Open the Ratnagiri Alphonso Mango page and pick a dozen option by fruit size.
  2. Add it to the cart and enter your address and PIN code at checkout.
  3. We pack the fruit and hand it to Blue Dart. About 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery; check your PIN code at checkout.
  4. Open the box on arrival, lay the fruit out, and let it finish ripening at home.

What arrives at your door

A dozen Ratnagiri Hapus, graded by fruit size. Alphonso fruits generally weigh 150 to 300 g, so a dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. The smallest grade starts from Rs 1,849 per dozen and the largest Ratnagiri option goes up to Rs 5,399. Check the product page for today's price.

The fruit is sent firm, not soft. A soft mango does not travel well, so the box is packed while the fruit still has a day or more of ripening left in it. Wikipedia puts the time from harvest to ripening of Alphonso at about 15 days, and the last part of that happens in your home. This is normal, not a fault.

We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide use for ripening is prohibited by FSSAI under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller; details are on our Brand Facts page.

Getting the address right

Most delivery problems with fruit come from the address, not the courier. A box that waits a day at a hub because the phone did not answer loses a day of shelf life. These are the things that help.

Address details that make home delivery of mangoes go smoothly
Detail Why it matters
Building, wing and floor Large societies have several gates; the courier needs the exact tower.
A landmark Saves the courier a phone call and saves your fruit an hour in a van.
A mobile number that answers The courier calls before delivery; an unanswered call can mean a return to the hub.
Someone at home Fruit should not sit sealed at a security desk in the heat.
The correct PIN code The PIN code decides the courier route and whether next-day service applies.

If you are sending the box to a relative, put their name and number on the order, not yours, and tell them to expect it. Our gifting page covers mango gifts in more detail.

After delivery: the first hour and the first week

Open the box within an hour of delivery. Take every fruit out and lay it in a single layer on a tray or a sheet of newspaper, in a shaded corner at room temperature. A sealed box traps heat, and heat ripens the fruit unevenly.

  • Firm fruit: leave it at room temperature and check it daily. A slight give near the stalk and a sweet smell mean it is ready.
  • Ripe fruit: move it to the fridge to slow it down and eat it within a few days.
  • Any fruit with a cut or a dark bruise: eat it first.
  • Do not refrigerate firm, unripe fruit; cold stops the ripening and the flesh stays pale.

Report any damage within 24 hours of delivery by writing to support@alphonsomango.in. Our ripening guide explains each stage with photographs.

Ratnagiri Hapus or Devgad Hapus for home delivery

Both are the same Alphonso variety and both carry GI No. 139. Ratnagiri is a district on the Konkan coast; Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district, further south. We list them separately because customers ask for them by name, not because one is better than the other. Our Devgad Alphonso Mango page also starts from Rs 1,849 per dozen.

Kesar, from Gujarat, and Pairi, from the Konkan, are different varieties and are listed on their own pages. The mango collection shows everything in one place. For a fuller comparison read Ratnagiri vs Devgad Alphonso.

Season and timing your order

Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027, and the fresh listings show as unavailable until then. Fresh Hapus is not sold outside the season. If a site offers you fresh Ratnagiri Hapus for home delivery in October, ask it where the fruit grew.

For the months in between, the Alphonso Mango Pulp tin is available all year in 850 g and 3.1 kg tins, from Rs 590. There is no GST on fresh mangoes; for corporate gifting orders GST applies on shipping and the invoice shows it. If you are ordering for an office, write to us with your quantity, cities and dates and we will tell you what is possible.

How much does Ratnagiri Hapus cost with home delivery?

Our Ratnagiri Hapus starts from Rs 1,849 per dozen for the smallest fruit grade and goes up to Rs 5,399 for the largest option. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. Prices can change, so check the product page for today's price before you order.

Will the mangoes arrive ripe or raw?

Firm, with a day or more of ripening left. Soft fruit does not travel well, so the box is packed before the fruit is fully ripe. Lay the mangoes out in a single layer at room temperature and check daily. They are ready when the flesh gives slightly near the stalk and smells sweet.

What should I do if the mangoes arrive damaged?
