Fresh Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season fresh Alphonso is not sold, and the fresh mango listings show as unavailable until the season opens.
How much to order depends on the use. For eating fresh, count roughly two to three fruits per person per sitting and remember that a dozen is a lot of fruit for a small household. For aamras, shakes and desserts, the pulp tin is the easier option because it needs no ripening or peeling. For a gift, choose by the recipient: Alphonso for people who know the Hapus name, Kesar for those who like a milder orange-pulp mango.
Alphonso or Kesar: which mango should you buy?

Alphonso and Kesar are different varieties, so the choice is about taste and use, not quality. Many households order both. Here is a plain comparison using only what we can state.
| Point | Alphonso (Hapus) | Kesar |
|---|---|---|
| Home region | Konkan coast of Maharashtra, around Ratnagiri and Devgad. | Gujarat; Kesar is said to have been grown in 1931 by the Junagadh Wazir Sale Bhai. |
| Pulp | Rich, creamy and non-fibrous. | Orange pulp; Wikipedia and Zee News report that the Nawab of Junagadh, Mahabat Khan III, named it Kesar around 1934 for that colour. |
| How we sell it | By the dozen, from Rs 1,849. | By the box, from Rs 999. |
| Common use | Eating fresh, gifting, aamras. | Eating fresh, aamras and shakes. |
| Season with us | About February to June, best March to May. | Listing reopens with the 2027 season on 1 February 2027. |
Our Kesar mango guide goes deeper on Kesar. If you cannot decide, a dozen of Alphonso for eating and a Kesar box for aamras is a common pairing.
How to buy mango online, step by step
- Choose the variety and size. Open the product page and pick the dozen or box option. A dozen of our Alphonso weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade, so pick the grade as well as the count.
- Add to cart and enter your PIN code. Delivery is by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Orders received before 1 PM are dispatched the same day. Check your PIN code at checkout.
- Receive and check the box. Open it soon after it arrives. We ask customers to report damage within 24 hours of delivery.
- Ripen and eat. Firm fruit needs a few days at room temperature. Ripe fruit smells sweet and gives slightly near the stalk.

If you are shopping from a particular city, our pages for mangoes online in Mumbai, mangoes online in Bangalore, mango online in Chennai and mangoes online in Hyderabad have local detail. We never promise next-day delivery for a named city, so the PIN code check decides.
What to check before you buy mangoes online
Good online shopping starts with the seller, not the photo. These checks work for any shop.
- Seller identity. A named business, a postal address and a phone number.
- FSSAI licence. Ours is 10020022011783.
- Origin paperwork. For our Alphonso we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139), listed on our Brand Facts page. Ask any seller for the equivalent paperwork for the variety you are buying.
- Ripening method. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Selling fruit ripened with calcium carbide is prohibited under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011.
- Dozen weight and grade. Compare weight per dozen, not only price.
- Damage policy. Ask what the seller does if the box arrives damaged.
Our guide to dos and donts of buying Alphonso online expands on this list.
Where our mangoes come from

Our Alphonso is sourced across 55 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt on the Konkan coast. It is harvested before dawn, at Brahma Muhurta, and hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net. We sold our first mangoes offline in 2019 and online from 2020, and we have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales.
We also supply restaurants and hotels in general terms. If you want a large quantity, tell us the cities, the dates and the quantity, and we will tell you what is possible. For gifts, read our corporate gifting guide. Outside India, we ship directly to the UAE; for other countries write to us first.
Out-of-season mango and what to do
If you search for mangoes outside the season, be careful with any listing that offers fresh Alphonso. Ask where the fruit was grown, when it was harvested and how it was ripened before you pay. Fresh Alphonso is harvested about February to June, so fruit offered in the off months deserves extra questions. If you want the flavour without waiting, pulp tins are available all year, and our recipes show how to use them in aamras, lassi and desserts.
Storing mangoes after delivery
Keep firm fruit at room temperature in a single layer, away from direct sun. When it smells sweet and gives slightly, eat it, or put ripe fruit in the fridge for a day or two. For longer storage, blend ripe pulp and freeze it. Our guide to making mango pulp explains the steps, and the mango freezer storage guide covers freezing.
