How mango delivery in Mumbai works

The process is the same for every city, and Mumbai is no exception. You order on the site, we pack the fruit, and Blue Dart carries the box to you.

  1. Pick the product. Open the Ratnagiri Alphonso or Devgad Alphonso page and choose a dozen size.
  2. Enter your PIN code. Add the box to the cart and type your Mumbai address and PIN code at checkout. The checkout is where you see what delivery is possible for your address.
  3. We dispatch. Orders received before 1 PM are dispatched the same day. We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery, so some Mumbai PIN codes will be quicker than others. Check your PIN code at checkout.
  4. You receive and ripen. Open the box the day it arrives and follow the ripening notes below.

What you can order for Mumbai delivery

Fresh mango is seasonal, so the list changes through the year. Pulp is the one product that is always there. Prices below are "from" prices on the live store, and the product page shows the current figure.

Mango products we deliver in Mumbai
Product What it is Price (from) When
Ratnagiri Alphonso GI-certified Alphonso from Ratnagiri district, sold by the dozen Rs 1,849 per dozen, up to Rs 5,399 for the largest option Fresh season only
Devgad Alphonso GI-certified Alphonso from Devgad taluka in Sindhudurg district, sold by the dozen Rs 1,849 per dozen Fresh season only
Kesar mango Kesar from Gujarat, sold by the box Rs 999 per box Fresh season only
Alphonso Mango Pulp Tin Alphonso pulp in 850 g and 3.1 kg tins Rs 590 and up All year

A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on the grade, which is why we price by the dozen and not by the kilo. If you have been comparing a per-kilo market rate with our dozen price, compare the weight of the grade as well. The one-dozen Alphonso page lists the grades side by side.

Both Alphonso products come from the same variety and the same belt. Choose by the size and grade you want, not by a rumour that one origin is better than the other.

Online or a Mumbai market stall: a fair comparison

Buying mango in Mumbai: online versus local sellers
Question Local stall or market Online (AlphonsoMango.in)
See the fruit first? Yes, you can look and smell No; you open the box on arrival
Source in writing? Rarely Yes, Ratnagiri or Devgad on the product page
Certificate number? Ask the seller GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139)
Grade and dozen size? Varies by stall Listed on the product page
Convenience Carry it home Delivered to the door

Neither is wrong. A good local vendor you trust is hard to beat. If you do not have one, online gives you information you can check. Alphonso from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt is GI-tagged in India under GI No. 139.

Alphonso, Kesar or Pairi: which to order in Mumbai

These are different fruits, not grades of one fruit. Ratnagiri and Devgad Alphonso suit eating whole, gifting and festive tables. Kesar (from Rs 999 for a half dozen and Rs 1,699 for a dozen) and Pairi (from Rs 2,799 per dozen) are separate varieties that many families keep for aamras and meals at home.

If you plan aamras, milkshakes or ice cream in quantity, decide between fresh fruit and pulp. The Alphonso Mango Pulp Tin comes in 850 g and 3.1 kg sizes from Rs 590 and is available all year. Our aamras recipe gives a simple method. Check each product page for the current price.

Choosing a dozen, and ordering for Mumbai occasions

A dozen is twelve fruit, and the grade decides how big they are. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade, so a larger grade means a heavier box and a higher price. Pick the grade by how you plan to eat the fruit.

Which grade for which use
Use What to look for
Eating plain, cut or whole Larger grades, fewer fruit to cut, easier to share
Aamras and milkshakes Any grade works; smaller grades cost less per dozen
Gifting Even, unmarked fruit in a larger grade looks best
Off-season flavour The pulp tin, not a doubtful fresh box

Many Maharashtrian families mark the start of the mango year around Gudi Padwa or Akshaya Tritiya, and aamras with puri or chapati is a common festive meal. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027, so early fruit is possible before those dates, though supply is usually thin at the very start.

  • For a festival lunch: order a few days ahead so the fruit has time to soften. Ripening takes about 15 days from harvest, and a box arrives at mixed stages.
  • For visiting relatives: order the dozen to arrive before they do, not on the day.

Our mango festival in Mumbai page lists a few seasonal events.

When Mumbai orders open

The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Alphonso is harvested from about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. All our Alphonso is harvested at Brahma Muhurta, the pre-dawn hour.

Alphonso takes roughly 15 days from harvest to full ripeness, so a box that reaches you a day or two after dispatch still has ripening to do. That is normal and it is the reason delivery speed matters more than it does for a fruit that is already soft. Outside the season we do not sell fresh Alphonso. The pulp tin is available all year, and our Alphonso season guide explains the calendar month by month.

What to do when the box arrives

  • Open it the same day. Take the mangoes out and lay them in a single layer so air reaches each fruit.
  • Keep unripe fruit at room temperature, away from direct sun and not in the fridge. Chilling firm fruit can stop it ripening properly.
  • Check for ripeness each day. A ripe Alphonso smells sweet near the stalk and gives slightly under a gentle press. Our how to ripen Alphonso at home page has the detail.
  • Refrigerate only ripe fruit that you cannot finish, and eat it soon.
  • Report damage within 24 hours of delivery. Write to support@alphonsomango.in or call 8369048029 and tell us what you found.

Mumbai heat is worth a thought. A box left on a sunny balcony or in a parked car will ripen unevenly and fast. Keep it indoors in the shade.

Ripening and authenticity

Two questions come up on almost every delivery enquiry. How was the fruit ripened, and is it really Alphonso from the Konkan? We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Selling fruit ripened with carbide gas is prohibited in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011, so this is a question you are entitled to ask any seller.

On origin, we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139) for Alphonso. The details are on our Brand Facts page, and our guide to spotting carbide-ripened mangoes explains why colour alone proves nothing.

A delivery checklist for any seller in Mumbai

Whether you buy from us, a market stall or another website, these questions save disappointment.

  • Which courier carries the box, and is my PIN code serviceable?
  • Is the price for a dozen, a box or a kilo, and what does that unit weigh?
  • How was the fruit ripened?
  • Which season does the fruit belong to? Fresh Alphonso is not on sale from July to January.
  • Who do I contact, and within how many hours of delivery?

If you are sending mangoes to family in Mumbai from another city, or planning a corporate order, our gifting page explains the options and you can write to us with the quantity and dates.

People also ask

How fast is mango delivery in Mumbai?

We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Orders received before 1 PM are dispatched the same day. Speed depends on your PIN code, so enter it at checkout. Alphonso also needs time to ripen after it arrives, so plan a few days at room temperature.

Is shipping free for mangoes in Mumbai?

Shipping is worked out at checkout from your PIN code and the weight of the box, so we do not promise free shipping on this page. If an offer applies to your order, the checkout shows it before you pay. If none applies, you see the exact charge.

Can I order Alphonso mangoes in Mumbai all year?

No. Fresh Alphonso is harvested from about February to June, and the 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season we do not sell fresh Alphonso. The Alphonso Mango Pulp Tin is available all year if you want the flavour for aamras, shakes or desserts.

Do you sell mangoes by the kilo in Mumbai?

We price Alphonso by the dozen, from Rs 1,849, because a dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on the grade. To compare with a per-kilo rate elsewhere, check the grade and the weight of the dozen on the product page, then compare like with like.

What if my mango box arrives damaged?

Report it within 24 hours of delivery by writing to support@alphonsomango.in or calling 8369048029, and tell us what you found. Do not wait for the fruit to ripen fully before you open the box, because problems are easiest to see on the day it arrives.
