Hapus mango in Nashik: what you can order online

Nashik is in Maharashtra, the same state as the Konkan coast where Alphonso grows, but the two places are a long way apart in farming and in climate. Nashik buyers who search for "hapus mango in Nashik" or "Alphonso mango in Nashik" are usually looking for fruit that comes from the coast itself, not from a local market stall. That is the fruit we send.

We are Powle Home Foods in Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. Our fruit is sourced across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt. We started selling offline in 2019 and online in 2020, and we have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales. Alphonso from this coast is GI-tagged in India (GI No. 139), and we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).

The online route has one clear advantage for a Nashik household. You choose the origin, the size and the number of dozens on a product page, you see the price before you pay, and you can read what the seller says about ripening. At a local stall you rarely get any of that, and the fruit may be sold under the Alphonso name without any statement of where it grew.

Hapus is the Marathi name for Alphonso, so "Hapus" and "Alphonso" mean the same fruit. For the wider picture of mangoes around the district, our guide to Alphonso mango in Nashik and Ahmednagar covers local buying questions. This page is about ordering from us.

Mangoes delivery Nashik — GI-certified Alphonso from Konkan villages

We sell two origins of the same variety. Ratnagiri is a district, and Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district. Both are Alphonso, and we do not rank one above the other. A Nashik family that has not tried either can order one dozen of each and decide.

Alphonso options for Nashik on AlphonsoMango.in
Option Starting price Notes
Ratnagiri Alphonso From Rs 1,849 per dozen Up to Rs 5,399 for the largest option.
Devgad Alphonso From Rs 1,849 per dozen Up to Rs 5,499 for the largest option.
Alphonso pulp tin From Rs 590 850 g and 3.1 kg tins, available all year.

The price depends on the size of the fruit and the number of dozens. A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade, so compare boxes by count and size and not by weight alone. We do not quote prices per kilogram. Check the product page for today's price.

Mangoes delivery in Nashik: how it works

We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. We never promise next-day delivery for a named city, so the PIN code check at checkout is the step that tells you what to expect for your address.

  • Carrier: Blue Dart, for fresh fruit.
  • Address: enter your full Nashik address and PIN code at checkout.
  • Receiving: someone should be home on the delivery day, since fruit should not sit outside.
  • Damage: report it within 24 hours of delivery.

A simple routine helps. On the day the box arrives, check that the count is right and that no fruit is crushed, and take a photograph if anything looks wrong. Move the fruit out of the box into a single layer in a cool, airy spot, and check it each day. Mangoes in one box do not all ripen at the same hour, so some may be ready before others, and that is normal.

When the box arrives, open it and look at each fruit. Fruit may arrive firm and soften over the following days. Keep it at room temperature, away from direct sun, and let the aroma and a slight give near the stalk tell you when it is ready. Do not refrigerate unripe fruit.

How the fruit is picked and ripened

Our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, so it is lifted off the tree rather than shaken down. Harvest happens at Brahma Muhurta, the pre-dawn hour, for all our Alphonso. Wikipedia notes that Alphonso takes about 15 days from harvest to ripening, so a box needs a few days at home before it is ready to eat.

Ripening is a fair question to put to any seller. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. We are FSSAI-licensed, and our details are on the Brand Facts page. A bucket-of-water test is only a rough clue, not proof.

Nashik mangoes delivery — seasonal Alphonso Hapus from Konkan, available February to June

Season, off-season and pulp

Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Outside the season fresh Alphonso is not sold by us, and the fresh mango listings stay closed. Alphonso pulp tins are available all year, which helps a Nashik household that wants the flavour for aamras or desserts before the new crop.

If you want an orange-pulped mango as well, we also sell Gir Kesar from Gujarat, from Rs 999 per box, on the Kesar Mango page. It is a separate variety, not a cheaper grade of Alphonso, and we sell it as its own product.

Gifts, weddings and offices in Nashik

Many Nashik orders are gifts: a box for parents, a festival present, or a thank-you for a client. Enter the recipient's address and PIN code at checkout and tell them a box is coming. For several recipients or a company, write to us with the quantity, the cities and the dates, and read our corporate gifting guide. GST is not charged on fresh mangoes, and for corporate gifting orders GST applies on shipping. We also supply restaurants and hotels.

Before you order from any seller, ask four things: where the fruit grew, how it was ripened, how many fruits are in the box, and what happens if the box is damaged. Those answers say more than a photograph.
