Buy Hapus Ratnagiri Online: Top Picks - AlphonsoMango.in

Ratnagiri Hapus mango is the Konkan Alphonso grown in and around Ratnagiri. At AlphonsoMango.in one dozen starts from Rs 1,849 and the largest option goes up to Rs 5,399, with Blue Dart delivery and a PIN code check at checkout.

What is Ratnagiri Hapus mango?

Ratnagiri is a district on the Konkan coast of Maharashtra, between the Arabian Sea and the Sahyadri hills. Hapus is the Marathi name for the Alphonso mango, so Ratnagiri Hapus is simply Alphonso grown in the Ratnagiri belt. Buyers also write it as Ratnagiri Hapus aam, Hapoos or Hafus. If you are looking to buy Hapus Ratnagiri online, you are looking for this fruit.

We are Powle Home Foods, a Mumbai business that runs AlphonsoMango.in. We source Alphonso from 48 villages across the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt, and we dispatch to customers across India by Blue Dart. This guide covers the price ladder, how the fruit is picked and ripened, what to check before you buy, how delivery works and when to order.

Ratnagiri Hapus price: from Rs 1,849 a dozen

Hapus is sold by the dozen, and the price follows fruit size and the number of dozens. Larger fruit costs more per dozen. Here is how our Ratnagiri Alphonso box prices run.

Ratnagiri Alphonso price ladder at AlphonsoMango.in
Box Price
One dozen From Rs 1,849, rising with fruit size
Two dozen From Rs 3,499, with the largest option at Rs 5,399

A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on the grade. Prices can change, so check the Ratnagiri Alphonso Mango page for the price on the day you order. We do not quote per-kilogram prices, because a kilogram figure hides the fruit size and grade. If a seller quotes only a price per kilo, ask for the fruit size, the origin and the ripening method before you compare. There is no GST on fresh mangoes, and our invoice shows it.

Choosing a box is simpler than it looks. Pick the fruit size first, because size drives the price and the eating experience. Smaller fruit is easy to eat whole, and larger fruit gives more pulp per mango. Then pick the number of dozens by how many people will eat the fruit over the next few days. One dozen suits a small household. Two dozen suits a larger family, guests or a gift for relatives. If you are unsure, write to us and we will help you choose.

How Ratnagiri Hapus is picked and ripened

Hapus Alphonso mangoes from the Konkan coast of Maharashtra

Harvest starts at Brahma Muhurta, the hour before sunrise. Pickers use a zela, a long pole fitted with a catching net, so the fruit is cut from the tree by hand and caught before it falls. After harvest, the mangoes ripen naturally on hay beds. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds.

This matters because selling fruit ripened with calcium carbide (acetylene) gas is prohibited under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller, licence number 10020022011783. Our guide to identifying carbide-ripened mangoes explains the clues and their limits.

How to check that a Ratnagiri Hapus is genuine

Many sellers use the Ratnagiri name, so ask the same questions of every seller.

  • Origin. Does the seller say which area the fruit comes from? We name the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt and the 48 villages we source from.
  • GI paperwork. The Alphonso from this region is covered by a Geographical Indication. We hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139), set out on our Brand Facts page. Our guide to the Alphonso mango GI tag explains what a GI record does and does not prove.
  • Ripening. Does the seller say how the fruit was ripened? No single colour, smell or water test proves the method.
  • Licence. Is an FSSAI number shown? Ours is 10020022011783.
  • Fruit itself. Our guide on identifying an Alphonso mango lists what to look for when you open the box.

Ratnagiri and Devgad

Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district, to the south of Ratnagiri district. Both areas grow the Alphonso, and we list them as two separate products so you can choose the one you like. We do not rank one above the other. Our Devgad Alphonso Mango also starts from Rs 1,849 a dozen. For background on both areas, see our guide to Ratnagiri and Devgad Hapus.

Delivery and care at home

We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. We do not promise a day for any named city, because the estimate depends on your PIN code. Outside India, we ship directly only to the UAE.

When the box arrives, open it on arrival and check every fruit. Spread the mangoes on a tray in a cool room, out of direct sun and not sealed in plastic. Firm fruit keeps ripening at room temperature, and it is ready when it gives slightly at the stalk end and smells sweet. Move ripe fruit to the fridge if you will not eat it within a day or two. If any fruit is damaged in transit, tell us within 24 hours of delivery. Our guide to ripening Alphonso mango has the full method.
