Delivery Across India
We pack in a 5-ply corrugated fibreboard box — 130 gsm paper, alternate flute orientation, reinforced corners, a 12-slot partition that takes transit pressure so the fruit does not. Every mango sits in a foam-net sleeve (flat width 50–55 mm) on a hay bed. Six air holes top and bottom keep airflow moving so condensation does not trigger anthracnose.
From harvest in Ratnagiri or Devgad, the fruit reaches our Mumbai packhouse within about 12 hours by air-conditioned vehicle. After 24–48 hours of natural hay-bed ripening there, we dispatch. Total time from tree to courier hand-off is 48–72 hours. Patna receives the box in 1–3 days after dispatch.
We do not ship fresh Alphonso between July and January. Fruit is not in season. Anyone selling "Alphonso" in that window is selling something else.
Courier is BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees depending on your pin code. We cover 15,000–17,000 serviceable pin codes across India, including Patna.
If your fruit arrives damaged in transit or fails quality on arrival, photograph or video it and send on WhatsApp within 24 hours of delivery. No physical return needed. We dispatch a fresh replacement or credit your account for the next order.

Where the Mangoes Come From
Prashant Powle built the sourcing network village by village starting in 2017. We now work with 100+ partner farmer families across 55 named villages in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts — though our site copy says 48+, the full count is 55. Orchards are sea-facing, typically 12–25 years old, selected on Brix consistency and alternate-bearing management.
On the Ratnagiri side: Pawas, Golap, Nachane, Mavalange, Waravade, Purnagad, Gaonkhadi, Ambeshet, Mirya, Kalbadevi, Majgaon, Kasheli and Adi are among the villages we source from. In Sindhudurg's Devgad taluka: Devgad, Jamsande, Vijaydurg, Dahibav, Kunkeshwar, Mithbav and Tambaldeg, among others.
Cultivation follows strict SOPs covering which natural sprays and fertilisers are applied from flowering to harvest. Fruit is hand-harvested using a Nutan/Zela pole fitted with a catching net — the tree is never shaken, the fruit never falls. For tall trees, an indigenously developed length-extending pole with a camera reaches what a standard pole cannot.
Every fruit is weighed, graded and run through AI/ML-assisted machine scanning to check for internal defects (including spongy tissue) and external deformities before packing. We independently test for pesticide residues at Envirocare Labs, Thane (NABL accredited, TC-8284) weekly through the season. Our April 2025 test (certificate 01/ETHAP2500044) showed all 28 residues within Codex maximum residue limits; 27 of 28 were below the limit of quantification.
What does "GI Tagged" actually mean for a Patna buyer?
GI No. 139 covers Alphonso grown in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. It means the fruit's origin is protected by law — similar to how Darjeeling protects its tea. We hold Authorised User status AU/5974/GI/139/260, which means our specific credential is on the GI Registry. Many sellers claim "GI tagged" without any authorised user number. Ask for it.
How We Ripen Them
Natural hay-bed ripening — called Aadi ripening — in temperature-controlled rooms at our Mumbai packhouse. No ethylene chambers, no calcium carbide, no artificial ripening agents of any kind. The 24–48 hours the fruit spends there is monitored, not gas-triggered.
We also do a controlled hot-water treatment after harvest to reduce surface issues and extend shelf life. Post-harvest cooling at the packhouse follows before the fruit goes into air-conditioned vehicles for the Mumbai run.
Fruit reaches you at 70–80% ripeness — firm, undamaged by the journey, and fully ripe within about three days of delivery.
Storage and Ripening at Home in Patna
When the box arrives, open it. Take the mangoes out of their foam-net sleeves and let them sit at room temperature. Do not refrigerate unripe fruit — cold air stops the ripening process and flattens the flavour. Once the fruit is soft to gentle pressure and the saffron-yellow skin deepens, refrigerate for up to two hours before eating. Patna summers run hot, so your mangoes will ripen faster than in cooler cities — typically one to two days after delivery rather than three.
Do not stack them on top of each other once out of the box. The shoulders and base bruise easily at this ripeness stage.
Season and Availability
Fresh Alphonso ships February to June. Peak quality — highest Brix, best colour, most consistent weight — is March to May. We do not sell fresh Alphonso from July to January. The season is hard-capped by the tree's biology. Any listing that claims otherwise is selling a different variety or stored fruit.
Ratnagiri won the Gold Medal at the national One District One Product (ODOP) Awards 2024 — a recognition of the district's product, not a brand award, but it reflects why the demand from cities like Patna spikes every March.
Pre-orders open in February. Ordering early gives you first access to the best grades before stock runs out at peak season. We have served 47,000+ customers since 2020, and peak weeks sell out.
Nutrition
Ripe Alphonso pulp contains roughly 30–36 mg of vitamin C per 100 g. A 100 g serving meets about 40–45% of the ICMR-NIN 2020 recommended daily allowance for adult men (80 mg/day) and about 50% for adult women (65 mg/day). Alphonso also contains mangiferin, a polyphenol studied for anti-inflammatory activity in cell studies (Govindappa et al., 2011). We do not make medical claims — the fruit is good food, not a supplement.
Alphonso pulp is commonly served to babies from about six months as a first fruit. Keep it a serving suggestion; ask your paediatrician if you have any doubt.
How to Spot Genuine GI-Tagged Alphonso
Real Ratnagiri or Devgad Alphonso has a saffron-yellow skin at ripeness, a small green tip near the stem, and a scent that carries from two feet away. The pulp is fibre-free, deep orange, and the seed is thin relative to the fruit size. Brix at full ripeness runs 18–24°.
What to watch for with other sellers: unnamed source villages, no GI Authorised User number, fruit sold as "Alphonso" in August, or prices that seem too low to cover air-conditioned transport from Konkan to Bihar. Carbide-ripened fruit typically has a uniform yellow skin with green patches that don't soften evenly, and it tastes flat.
We publish our lab test certificates, our GI credential (AU/5974/GI/139/260), our FSSAI number (10020022011783) and our APEDA number (225579) openly. If a seller cannot produce these, the fruit's provenance is unverified.
