A good corporate Alphonso mango gift supplier names the variety and origin, shows a verifiable credential, states what each box contains and puts quantity, cities and dates in a written quotation. Ask for these before you pay, and compare quotations on the same grade.
Gifting mangoes to clients or staff looks simple until the fruit is late, unripe or different from what you saw on the website. Your name is on the gift, so a bad box reflects on you, not on the supplier. This article is about choosing the supplier, not about gift ideas. If you want the product side, read our corporate gift Alphonso mango article and the corporate gifting guide.
Why the supplier matters more than the box
Alphonso is a seasonal fruit. It is harvested roughly from February to June, with the best supply from March to May. Outside that window fresh Alphonso is not available from us, so ask any seller offering it where the fruit comes from. A corporate order also has more that can go wrong than a single family order: many recipients, several cities, a fixed gifting date and an accounts team that wants a proper invoice.
That is why the supplier matters more than the packaging. A plain box of properly graded fruit that arrives on time is a better gift than a decorated box of mixed grades that arrives late. Three things decide the outcome: the fruit itself, the way the supplier handles dispatch, and the paperwork. The sections below take them one by one.
What to check in any corporate mango supplier
1. The fruit: variety, origin and grade
Ask which variety is in the box and where it was grown. Alphonso (Hapus) from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt of the Konkan coast carries a Geographical Indication. Ask for the credential, not just the claim. Ours is the GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139), and the details are on our Brand Facts page. Any supplier should be able to show something similar.
Grade matters as much as origin. A dozen can weigh roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on the grade, so two quotations for a "dozen" are not comparable until the weight range is written down.
2. How the fruit is ripened
Ask the supplier directly how the fruit is ripened. We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Ask for the answer in writing. A rough home clue such as a floating test is only a clue, not proof of anything, so rely on what the supplier states in writing.
3. A real business behind the order
For a corporate buyer, a food licence and a traceable business address matter. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller, run by Powle Home Foods in Mumbai, and we have served 47,000+ customers across online, offline and marketplace sales, with fruit sourced across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt. Whatever supplier you pick, ask for the licence number and a company name that matches the invoice.
4. Delivery partner and coverage
We ship through Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. That is a national average, so we ask buyers to check their PIN code at checkout rather than assume a promise for a named city. Ask every supplier the same thing: which courier, which PIN codes, and what happens if a recipient is not at home.
Questions to ask before you order
On tax, there is no GST on fresh mangoes. GST applies on shipping for corporate gifting orders, and the invoice shows it. Ask any supplier how their invoice shows this.
Use this list with every supplier on your shortlist. Where a term matters to your company, such as a minimum order, a credit period or a service-level commitment, do not assume it. Ask for it in writing.
- Which variety and which origin is in the box, and can you show the credential?
- What grade is it, and what is the weight range of one dozen?
- How is the fruit ripened, and how is it packed for transit?
- Is there a minimum order quantity, and does the price change with volume?
- What does the quotation include: fruit, packing, delivery, taxes? Is it itemised?
- Prices can change; how long is the quotation valid?
- Which documents will I receive: invoice, tax details, licence number?
- What are the payment terms, and is any advance needed?
- How does the supplier handle recipients in several cities or at several addresses?
- What happens if fruit arrives damaged, and how soon must I report it?
- Can the supplier share a sample or a quality report before a large order?
Suppliers differ on many of these answers, and that is fine. What matters is that the answer is specific and written down. For damage, our own practice is that it should be reported within 24 hours of delivery. Terms depend on your quantity, cities and dates. Write to us with those three and we will answer for your order.
Comparing quotations
Once you have a shortlist, put the quotations side by side on the same grade, dozen weight and delivery terms. Our separate article on comparing mango suppliers, quotations and invoices goes through it step by step. For setting the amount per recipient, see how much to budget per person.
Season and timing for corporate orders
The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Most corporate gifting falls between March and May, when supply is best. Decide your gifting date first, then work backwards: Alphonso takes about 15 days from harvest to ripening, and the supplier needs time to harvest, grade and pack, and your recipient list needs to be final before dispatch, not after.
If your festival or event falls outside the fresh season, Alphonso pulp tins are available all year. They suit a gift that has to be sent in, say, the off-season, though they are a different gift from a box of fresh fruit. The Alphonso mango pulp page has the current options.
A short checklist to finish
- Fix the recipient count, the cities and the gifting date.
- Decide the variety and grade you want, then write it down.
- Ask two or three suppliers the same questions from the list above.
- Compare itemised quotations row by row.
- Confirm in writing before you pay.
How we can help
We supply Alphonso from Ratnagiri and Devgad, and we also supply restaurants and hotels. For gifting, the starting point is the corporate gifting form. Tell us how many recipients you have, which cities they are in and the date you want them to receive the gift, and we will reply with what we can do. You can also read about our gifting options and browse the Ratnagiri Alphonso and Devgad Alphonso product pages. Prices start from Rs 1,849 per dozen and rise with grade, so check the product page for the current price.
Both Ratnagiri and Devgad fruit are the same variety. We do not rank one above the other, and our harvest is done at Brahma Muhurta, the pre-dawn hours, for all Alphonso. Our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net.
People also ask
How do I choose a corporate Alphonso mango gift supplier?
Shortlist suppliers who state the variety, origin and grade, show a verifiable credential and food licence, and give an itemised written quotation. Ask each one the same questions, compare dozen weight and delivery terms side by side, and confirm quantity, cities and dates in writing before you pay.
Is there a minimum order for corporate mango gifting?
It depends on the supplier, and some set one while others do not. Do not assume. Ask each supplier for the minimum order and any change in price with volume in writing. If you write to us with your quantity, cities and dates, we will tell you what applies to your order.
What credentials should a mango gift supplier show?
Ask for a food licence number, a company name that matches the invoice and, for Ratnagiri or Devgad Alphonso, a Geographical Indication credential. Ours is the GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139), with details on our Brand Facts page. Ask any supplier to show theirs in writing.
When should a company place a mango gifting order?
Fix your gifting date and recipient list first, then order as early in the season as you can. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027, with the best supply from March to May. Outside the season fresh Alphonso is not sold, though pulp tins are available all year.
