A mango gift box and a dry-fruit hamper do different jobs. Choose mangoes for a seasonal gift from February to June, when freshness is the point. Choose dry fruits for a gift that keeps and travels well in any month. Many companies use both.
Companies often choose between fresh fruit and dry fruit on price. The first question should be when the gift will be given and how long it has to last. This article compares the two on season, shelf life, planning, storage and allergens. It does not repeat our general corporate gifting guide or the corporate gift with Alphonso mango article; it is only the decision between these two gifts.
The plain answer: mango gift box vs dry-fruit hamper
Fresh mangoes are a seasonal gift. Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May, and our 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. If your gifting date falls in that window, a mango box is a distinctive gift because people look forward to it all year.
Dry fruits are a gift for the rest of the year. They do not ripen, they are less sensitive to a delayed delivery, and they suit a list where some recipients may be away. If your date falls in autumn or winter, or you cannot guarantee someone will be home, dry fruits are the practical choice.
A point about what we sell: we do not offer a ready-made dry-fruit hamper product. Our shop sells the individual items, including cashews, California almonds and mixed dry fruits. If you want a company order built from several items, write to us with your quantity, cities and dates, and we will tell you what we can and cannot do.
Mango gift box vs dry-fruit hamper: side-by-side
The table compares the two in general terms. Where we quote a price, it is a "from" price and the product page has the current figure.
| Point | Fresh mango gift box | Dry-fruit hamper |
|---|---|---|
| Season | About February to June; our 2027 season opens on 1 February and it is available till June of every year | Any month |
| Shelf life | Ripens over days; best enjoyed soon after arrival | Keeps for months if sealed and stored cool and dry; check the best-before date on the pack |
| Planning | Order ahead of the season window; delivery depends on dispatch and PIN code | Easier to schedule; less affected by a day or two of delay |
| Who must be home | Someone should receive and unpack the fruit | A parcel left with security or reception is less of a problem |
| Allergens | Contains no nuts; ask about any food restrictions | Tree nuts and peanuts are well-known allergens |
| Talk value | High: seasonal and recognisable | Lower: familiar and easy to compare |
| Our range | Alphonso from Rs 1,849 per dozen; Kesar from Rs 999 per box; Alphonso pulp tins from Rs 590 all year | Mixed dry fruits, almonds and cashews as separate items; check each product page for the current price |
When a mango gift box wins
- Your date falls in the season. From February to June, a box of Alphonso feels timely.
- You want the gift remembered. A mango box is seasonal, and recipients tend to talk about it.
- The recipient is at home or at work to receive it. Fresh fruit should go to someone who will unpack it promptly.
- You can plan ahead. Fresh mangoes need planning, so decide early.
We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Our Ratnagiri Alphonso and Devgad Alphonso options start from Rs 1,849 per dozen, and Kesar starts from Rs 999 per box. For quantity decisions across a list, see mango gift budget per person.
When a dry-fruit hamper wins
- Your date is outside the mango season. Autumn and winter festivals fall after the season has closed. Our Diwali and festive corporate gifts article covers the festive period.
- Recipients are spread across many addresses. If you are not sure everyone will be home, dry fruits are more forgiving of a missed first delivery.
- You need the gift to sit on a shelf. A sealed pack of dry fruits survives a delay better than fresh fruit.
- You want a gift a team can share. A pack of mixed dry fruits can sit on a desk.
Since we sell the individual items and not a ready hamper, ask us how a multi-item order would work before you plan around it.
Storage, allergens and recipients
Three practical points decide many corporate gift choices and are easy to miss:
- Storage. Keep fresh mangoes out of direct sun and eat them as they ripen. Keep dry fruits in a sealed container in a cool, dry place, and look at the best-before date.
- Allergens. Tree nuts and peanuts are common allergens, and a nut gift sent to a large list will reach some people who cannot eat it. Fresh mango does not contain nuts. If you are sending to a large or unknown list, ask about food restrictions.
- Recipients. Think about who opens the parcel. A fresh-fruit box addressed to an office with no pantry may sit for a day. A dry-fruit pack at the same desk will not mind.
Using both across the year
Many companies do not need to choose one. A simple plan is to match each gifting date to the product that fits it:
| Gifting date | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Mango season, February to June | Fresh Alphonso or Kesar | Seasonal and distinctive |
| Outside the season | Dry fruits or cashews, or Alphonso pulp tins | They do not depend on fresh fruit; pulp tins are available all year |
| Mixed list across many cities | Dry fruits for far or uncertain addresses; mangoes for those who can receive | Matches the delivery risk to the product |
If you are considering mango for team rewards, read employee gifts across cities. If you are choosing a supplier, see how to choose a corporate gift supplier for a checklist. Our Alphonso pulp tins are a middle path: they are mango, they are available all year, and they come in 850 g and 3.1 kg tins from Rs 590.
What to ask any supplier, ours included
- What exactly is in the gift, and what are the weights or counts?
- Which months is it available, and what happens outside them?
- Who delivers it, and can I check each recipient's PIN code before paying?
- How is damage handled, and what is the window for reporting it?
- How will the invoice show tax for this particular mix of products?
We do not state terms we have not set. If you need an answer on quantity, invoicing or timing, write to us rather than assuming. There is no GST on fresh mangoes, and GST applies on shipping for corporate gifting orders; the invoice shows it.
How we can help
Tell us your headcount, the cities, the dates and whether you want fresh mangoes, dry fruits or a mix. Use the gift enquiry form, read the gifting page, or reach us through the contact page. We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. We cannot promise a delivery date, and orders can be placed on the website at any hour, but that is not a delivery promise. If anything arrives damaged, report it within 24 hours of delivery through the contact page.
People also ask
Is a mango gift box better than a dry-fruit hamper for corporate gifting?
Neither is better in every case. A mango gift box suits the season, from February to June, when freshness is the draw. A dry-fruit hamper suits any other month and lists with uncertain delivery. Many companies use mangoes in season and dry fruits outside it.
Which keeps longer, mangoes or dry fruits?
Dry fruits keep far longer. Fresh mangoes ripen over days and are best enjoyed soon after arrival, while sealed dry fruits keep for months in a cool, dry place. Check the best-before date on the pack. Alphonso pulp tins, from Rs 590, are available all year.
Can a company send both mangoes and dry fruits?
Yes, and many gift lists do. Send fresh mangoes in season to recipients who can receive them, and dry fruits to far or uncertain addresses. We sell the items individually and do not offer a ready-made hamper, so write to us with your quantity and cities first.
When should a company choose dry fruits over mangoes?
Choose dry fruits when the date falls outside the mango season, when recipients may not be home, or when the gift must sit on a shelf. Remember that tree nuts are a common allergen, so ask about food restrictions before sending to a large list.
