Alphonso mango online in Bhilwara
Bhilwara is a textile town in southern Rajasthan, and a long way from the Konkan coast where Alphonso grows. We are Powle Home Foods, a Mumbai business, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. Our fruit is sourced across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt. We have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales.

Bhilwara has many families with trade links to Mumbai and Surat, and plenty of people who first tasted Hapus on a business trip. This page explains how to get the same fruit to a Bhilwara address, how to choose a grade, and how to keep it well in a hot, dry summer.
Choosing a grade for a Bhilwara order
We sell Alphonso by the dozen, graded by fruit size. Wikipedia says Alphonso fruits generally weigh 150 to 300 g, and a dozen on our pages weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade. The size in grams is the grade of each fruit, not the weight of the box. We do not quote a per-kilo price.
| Purpose | Grade and pack | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Daily eating at home | A smaller grade, one dozen | Lowest price per box; the fruit is the same variety |
| Aamras for a family meal | Any grade, or the pulp tin after the season | Pulp quantity matters more than fruit size |
| A gift to a business contact | A larger grade | Each fruit looks generous when the box is opened |
| A large family or two households | Two dozen, or two orders to two addresses | Spreads the ripening over more days |
Both Ratnagiri Alphonso Mango and Devgad Alphonso Mango start from Rs 1,849 per dozen. Ratnagiri is a district and Devgad is a taluka in Sindhudurg district, and both grow the same variety. We do not rank one above the other. Check the product page for today's price.
Delivery to Bhilwara
We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. We do not promise a day for Bhilwara or any other town. Routes to district towns can be longer than routes to metros, and the only reliable answer is the message you see at checkout after entering your PIN code.

- Address: add the colony or area, such as Shastri Nagar, R.C. Vyas Colony, Subhash Nagar or Pur Road, and a landmark.
- Phone: give a number that is answered during working hours.
- Receiving: ask whoever is home to open the box on arrival and lay the fruit out.
- Damage: report it within 24 hours of delivery by writing to support@alphonsomango.in.
Bhilwara businesses often send a box to a supplier or a customer in another city. For that, enter the recipient's address and phone number at checkout and keep your own details in the billing section, so the courier calls the person who will actually receive the fruit.

Where the fruit comes from and how it is picked

Alphonso from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt is GI-tagged in India (GI No. 139). We hold the GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139), listed on our Brand Facts page. Our fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, so it is lifted from the tree and not shaken down, and we harvest at Brahma Muhurta, the pre-dawn hour, for all our Alphonso.
Wikipedia notes that mango cultivars of the Indian group are monoembryonic, so named varieties such as Alphonso are propagated by grafting. That is why an Alphonso tree in Devgad and one in Ratnagiri give the same variety. Our Alphonso GI tag explainer covers what the Alphonso tag does and does not mean.
Ripening: what we do and what you do
We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Selling fruit ripened with calcium carbide gas is prohibited in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller. A bucket-of-water test is a rough clue, not proof, so ask any seller how the fruit was ripened rather than relying on a test.
Wikipedia puts the time from harvest to ripening of Alphonso at about 15 days, so the fruit finishes at your home. That is normal, not a fault, and it means a box can feed a family over a week rather than in one sitting. Bhilwara summers are hot and dry, which speeds ripening up.
- Unpack at once and lay the fruit in a single layer.
- Keep firm fruit in a cooler interior room, away from sun and the cooler draught.
- Check daily. A slight give near the stalk and a sweet smell mean it is ready.
- Move ripe fruit to the fridge and eat it within a few days.
Our ripening guide has the full sequence, and our guide to identifying carbide-ripened mangoes lists the questions to ask a seller.
Season, the fruit itself and the months in between
Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Fresh listings show as unavailable until then, and fresh Alphonso is not sold outside the season. Wikipedia describes the pulp as rich, creamy and non-fibrous. As a general fact about mango, 100 g of raw mango provides about 36 mg of vitamin C, roughly 40% of the Daily Value; treat that as background, and ask your doctor or dietitian if you manage a health condition.
Between seasons the Alphonso Mango Pulp tin is available all year in 850 g and 3.1 kg tins from Rs 590. For gifts to business contacts, our gifting page explains how to send a box to another address.

Why is Alphonso mango costly?
Several things add up: it comes from a defined coastal belt, it is hand-harvested, and larger fruit costs more per dozen. We do not claim a single cause. Judge value by the fruit count, the size grade, the origin and how the fruit was ripened, and compare sellers on those points.
