Order Fresh Mango Online
These are the two GI-certified varieties available this season. Both are out of stock right now — the 2025 season has closed. Pre-orders for the 2026 season open in January.
Fruit is dispatched at 70–80% ripeness and reaches full ripeness within about three days of delivery — so it arrives firm, travels safely, and is ready to eat on your schedule.
Ratnagiri vs Devgad: Which to Choose?
Both carry GI No. 139. The difference is geography and, at peak season, Brix. Repeat-order data from 47,000+ customers shows north India leans Ratnagiri; Mumbai leans Devgad. Here is the practical comparison.
| Factor | Ratnagiri Alphonso | Devgad Alphonso |

Delivery Across India
The harvest-to-dispatch window is 48–72 hours. From the tree in Girye or Pawas, fruit reaches the Ratnagiri or Devgad packhouse within two hours by road. Air-conditioned vehicles carry it 10–12 hours to the Mumbai packhouse. There it rests on a hay bed for 24–48 hours of natural ripening, then dispatches.
Courier is BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees depending on your pin code. Transit time: 20–24 hours to metro cities, 1–3 days elsewhere. We currently reach 15,000–17,000 serviceable pin codes.
Packaging is a 5-ply corrugated CFB box (130 gsm, alternate flute orientation) with a 12-slot partition that absorbs transit pressure instead of the fruit. Every mango sits in a foam-net sleeve (flat width 50–55 mm) on a hay bed. Six air holes — top and bottom — keep airflow during the final ripening stage after you receive the box. This prevents the skin friction scars that blacken Alphonso lenticels and the condensation that can trigger anthracnose.
If fruit arrives transit-damaged, photograph or video it and send to us on WhatsApp within 24 hours of delivery. No physical return is needed. We dispatch a fresh replacement or credit your account for the next order.
Where the Mangoes Come From
We source from 55 named villages across Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. In Ratnagiri taluka that includes Pawas, Golap, Nachane, Mavalange and Mirya, among others. In Devgad taluka (Sindhudurg): Devgad, Jamsande, Vijaydurg, Girye, Kunkeshwar and 19 more villages. We also source from Malvan, Vengurla, Rajapur, Lanja and Mandangad talukas.
Our 100+ partner farmer families run orchards that are typically 12–25 years old, selected by Prashant Powle on three criteria: Brix consistency across the tree, how the farmer manages alternate-bearing years, and orchard longevity. Sea-facing orchards — particularly around Vijaydurg and Girye — produce fruit with a flavour profile that orchard visits have confirmed is distinct from inland farms.
Cultivation follows strict SOPs covering which natural sprays and fertilisers are used from flowering to harvest. Every fruit is weighed and graded; AI/ML-assisted machine scanning checks each mango for internal defects including spongy tissue before packing.
What about Kesar mango?
Kesar (GI Tag No. 185) comes from Junagadh district, Gujarat — the Girnar foothills and Gir forest belt, specifically Talala. It never comes from Konkan. Our Kesar is sourced exclusively from Junagadh.
How to Know Your Mango Is Genuine
GI No. 139 covers Alphonso from Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. The GI Registry Certificate No. 4163 was issued 16 October 2019. Our Authorised User number is AU/5974/GI/139/260 for Ratnagiri fruit and AU/6932 for Devgad fruit.
A fruit sold as "Alphonso" from outside these two districts is not GI-certified Alphonso — regardless of what the seller claims. The label must show the GI tag, and the supplier must hold a valid Authorised User number. Ask for it.
We also test residues weekly through the season. Envirocare Labs Pvt. Ltd., Thane (NABL accredited, certificate TC-8284), issued report 01/ETHAP2500044 on 5 April 2025. All 28 residues were within Codex maximum residue limits. Twenty-seven of 28 were below the limit of quantification (0.01 mg/kg). Thiamethoxam was detected at 0.013 mg/kg against a Codex limit of 0.2 mg/kg. Independently tested — all residues within Codex limits.
Ripening and Why It Matters
We use natural hay-bed (Aadi) ripening only, in temperature-controlled rooms. No ethylene chambers. No calcium carbide. No artificial ripening agents of any kind. The 24–48 hours at the Mumbai packhouse is monitored natural ripening on hay — not gas-triggered.
Carbide-ripened fruit reaches peak colour faster but the sugar development lags. Ethylene-gassed fruit in cold-store blending produces a consistent look but flattens the volatile esters that make Alphonso smell the way it does. We have tested both approaches. Hay-bed ripening at the right harvest stage gives Brix of 18–24° at full ripeness — the range that defines what an Alphonso should taste like.
After harvest, fruit goes through a controlled hot-water treatment to reduce surface fungal load and extend shelf life. Then post-harvest cooling at the packhouse before the air-conditioned road journey to Mumbai.
When is fresh mango NOT available?
Fresh Alphonso is not available July to January. The season closes in June. We are honest about this: if you search for "fresh mango near me" in August, we cannot help you with fresh fruit. Aamras and mango pulp are available year-round.
What You Get in Every 100 g
Ripe Alphonso pulp contains roughly 30–36 mg of vitamin C per 100 g. A 100 g serving meets about 40–45% of the ICMR-NIN 2020 recommended daily intake for adult men (80 mg/day) and about 50% for adult women (65 mg/day). Mangiferin, a xanthone found in Alphonso pulp and peel, showed anti-inflammatory activity in cell studies (Govindappa et al., 2011).
Alphonso puree from ripe fruit is suitable for babies from about 6 months as a serving suggestion — not medical advice; check with your paediatrician for your child's specific needs.
How to Order
- Step 1 — Select grade. Choose Ratnagiri Alphonso (₹1849–₹5399) or Devgad Alphonso (₹1849–₹5499) from the product pages linked above. Pick the weight grade — Small (150–180 g), Medium (180–225 g), Extra Large (250–275 g) or Jumbo (275–300 g) — and the box size: half dozen, one dozen or two dozen.
- Step 2 — Add to cart. Enter your pin code at checkout. The system shows which courier — BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees — serves your address and the estimated delivery window.
- Step 3 — Dispatch. Your order is picked, graded, packed at our Malvan or Devgad packing point and dispatched within the 48–72 hour harvest-to-dispatch cycle. Most Indian cities receive delivery in 1–3 days.
Pre-orders placed before the season can be cancelled before dispatch. Once dispatched, the cancellation window closes — but our quality replacement policy applies if the fruit arrives damaged.

People Also Ask
Where can I buy fresh mangos?
You can buy fresh mangoes at local sabzi markets, supermarkets like Reliance Smart or D-Mart, or online from GI-authorised sellers who ship directly from the orchard. Online is the only way to get certified Ratnagiri or Devgad Alphonso during the February–June season, delivered to your door in 1–3 days across 15,000–17,000 pin codes.
AlphonsoMango.in sources from 55 Konkan villages and ships in foam-net-sleeved, 5-ply CFB boxes via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees depending on your pin code.
Where is the best place to get mango?
For GI-certified Alphonso, the best place is directly from an Authorised User who sources from Ratnagiri or Sindhudurg — either a farm gate in Konkan during March–May or an online D2C seller who ships the fruit within 48–72 hours of harvest. Supermarkets rarely carry verified GI fruit with the Authorised User number on the label.
What grocery store has the best mangoes?
No single grocery chain consistently stocks verified GI-tagged Alphonso from Ratnagiri or Devgad. Most retail mangoes are unlabelled by origin. If you want certified fruit, check that the seller displays a GI Authorised User number — AU/5974/GI/139/260 for Ratnagiri, AU/6932 for Devgad — because the GI tag is the only legal proof of origin.
Ask the store directly; if they cannot show the Authorised User number, the fruit's origin is unverified.
Can you buy mangoes right now?
The Alphonso season runs February to June, with peak availability in March and April. Outside those months — July through January — fresh GI-certified Alphonso is not available anywhere, because the crop does not exist yet. Pre-orders for the 2026 season open in January, and the 2025 season has already closed.
If you want a reminder when the 2026 season opens, register on alphonsomango.in and you will get an alert before stock goes live.
