Both products are seasonal. Fresh Alphonso is available February to June (peak March to May). The 2027 mango season starts on 1 February 2027, and fresh mangoes are out of stock until then. No fresh Alphonso ships July to January — that is an honest constraint of the fruit, not a supply problem.

Delivery to Delhi

Fruit is dispatched from our Mumbai packhouse via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees depending on your pin code. Orders placed before 12 noon IST (Monday to Saturday) are dispatched the same day. Delivery takes 1 to 3 days for most PIN codes and 1 to 2 days to most metros, depending on your PIN code. Fresh mangoes are delivered by Blue Dart to more than 4,700 PIN codes.

Every mango ships at 70–80% ripeness — firm enough to survive the courier, ripening fully within about three days of delivery. The 5-ply corrugated fibreboard box uses a 12-slot partition that absorbs transit pressure, so the fruit itself carries none. Each mango sits in a foam-net sleeve that prevents lenticel bruising, vibration scars and moisture build-up.

If fruit arrives damaged, photograph it and raise a claim within 24 hours of delivery. We replace 100%.

What we do not do: we do not hold fruit in cold storage to extend availability beyond the natural season. When June ends, fresh Alphonso ends with it.

Alphonso Mango at the Delhi Mango Festival

Hapus Alphonso mango festival in Delhi — GI tagged Konkan fruit

Alphonso — called Hapus in Maharashtra — is the centrepiece of the Delhi mango festival every year. It holds GI Tag No. 139 covering Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. That GI number is the one credential worth checking: if a seller at the fair cannot show GI authorisation, the fruit may be a look-alike grown elsewhere.

Prashant Powle, founder of AlphonsoMango.in and GI Authorised User AU/5974/GI/139/260, was quoted in The Economic Times in June 2026 on the pressures facing Alphonso this season — weather volatility, early flowering, and yield uncertainty across Ratnagiri orchards. The point is that genuine Alphonso supply is genuinely limited each year. It is not a marketing device.

The Ratnagiri Alphonso won the Gold Medal at the national ODOP (One District One Product) Awards 2024 — a recognition of the district and the variety, earned on merit.

What is the Brix level of Alphonso at the Delhi mango festival?

A fully ripe Alphonso from Ratnagiri or Devgad reads 18–24° Brix, with Devgad fruit typically toward the upper end of that range. Fruit sold at the festival may be at varying stages of ripeness depending on harvest date and transit.

Mango Varieties at the Delhi Mango Fair

The festival is not only about Alphonso. Delhi buyers get rare access to varieties difficult to find in retail: Chaunsa, Dashehari, Langda, Himsagar, Malda, Mallika, Amrapali, Badami, and Kesar among them. Kesar holds its own GI Tag No. 185 covering Junagadh and Gir in Gujarat. AlphonsoMango.in sources Kesar from that region as well.

Some names at the festival are obscure even to mango professionals — Fazia, Gel Chia, Ruchika, Niamat Khera. These are regional cultivars rarely available outside their growing districts. The festival is genuinely the best single venue to taste them in Delhi.

How to Order

  1. Step 1 — Select grade: Choose the fruit weight that suits you — Small (150–180 g), Medium (180–225 g), Extra Large (250–275 g) or Jumbo (275–300 g) — and pick your box size (half dozen, one dozen or two dozen) on the product page.
  2. Step 2 — Add to cart: Place your order on alphonsomango.in; payment is processed securely at checkout.
  3. Step 3 — Dispatch: We dispatch via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees depending on your Delhi pin code.

How to Spot Genuine GI Alphonso in Delhi

Three things to check before you buy at the festival or anywhere else in Delhi:

First, ask for the GI Authorised User number. For Ratnagiri Alphonso it begins AU/…/GI/139/… and for Devgad it is AU/6932. If a seller cannot produce this, the variety may not be authenticated Konkan Alphonso.

Second, ask how the fruit was ripened. Natural hay-bed ripening (called Aadi in Konkan) produces a uniform golden skin with a faint floral smell. Carbide-ripened fruit often shows patchy colouring and a chalky aftertaste. Lab testing can confirm ripening method residues — we test weekly through the season at Envirocare Labs Pvt. Ltd., Thane (NABL accredited, TC-8284).

Third, check the weight. Genuine Alphonso in Medium grade runs 180–225 g per fruit. Undersized fruit sold as Alphonso is a common substitution in Delhi markets.

Natural Ripening — No Carbide, No Ethylene

Every fruit from AlphonsoMango.in is ripened on a hay bed (Aadi) in temperature-controlled rooms at the Mumbai packhouse. The 24–48 hours there are monitored natural ripening — no ethylene chambers, no calcium carbide, no artificial agents. This is not just a claim: the fruit is independently tested at Envirocare Labs (NABL, TC-8284), with a report dated 5 April 2025 (ref. 01/ETHAP2500044) confirming all 28 residue parameters within Codex maximum residue limits, with 27 of 28 below the limit of quantification.

We do not say "pesticide-free" — one residue (thiamethoxam at 0.013 mg/kg against a permitted limit of 0.2 mg/kg) was detected within safe limits. Honest reporting matters more than a reassuring label.

Before packing, every mango passes through AI/ML-assisted machine scanning that checks for internal spongy tissue and external deformities. Fruit that fails the scan does not ship. The grading table showed us early in our operations that visual inspection alone misses internal defects — the machine caught what eyes cannot.

Learn how to ripen Alphonso at home after delivery — the process is simple and takes two to three days at room temperature on a dry cloth.
