Hapus mango in Delhi is Alphonso from the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt, sold by the dozen from Rs 1,849 on AlphonsoMango.in and sent to Delhi by Blue Dart. Fresh Hapus is seasonal, February to June; the 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027.
What Hapus means for a Delhi buyer
Hapus is the Marathi name for Alphonso, the small saffron-fleshed mango of the Konkan coast. In Delhi the same fruit is called Alphonso, Alphanso or Hapus depending on who is selling it. We are Powle Home Foods in Mumbai, and we run AlphonsoMango.in. We have sold mangoes since 2019, online since 2020, and have served 47,000+ customers, including offline and marketplace sales.

Delhi has no shortage of mangoes. Dasheri, Chausa, Langra and Safeda from Uttar Pradesh arrive in the city's markets from the north, and our own catalogue carries Dasheri for that taste. Hapus is a different thing: smaller, with soft non-fibrous pulp and a strong scent, grown far to the south-west. People in Delhi order it for that difference, often for festivals, gifts and the first mango of the year.
We source Hapus across 48 villages of the Ratnagiri and Devgad belt. Alphonso from this belt is GI-tagged in India under GI No. 139, and we hold GI Authorised User certificate AU/5974/GI/139/260 (GI No. 139).
Buying Hapus mango online in Delhi
You order on the website, give a Delhi address and PIN code, and the box comes by courier. There is no stall or agent in Delhi. That is a plain statement, not a drawback: it means the box you get is the box we packed, with no mandi stop in between.

- Ratnagiri Alphonso Mango and Devgad Alphonso Mango: both from Rs 1,849 per dozen.
- Kesar mango: half-dozen Rs 999, dozen Rs 1,699.
- Alphonso mango pulp tin for the months with no fresh fruit, from Rs 590.
A dozen weighs roughly 1.8 to 3.3 kg depending on grade, so a larger grade is fewer, bigger fruit. Prices change with grade; check the product page for the current price. If you are comparing sellers, our note on the Alphonso GI tag explains what the certificate number means and what to ask for.
Delivery to Delhi
We dispatch by Blue Dart, and about 65% of Indian PIN codes get next-day delivery. Check your PIN code at checkout. Delhi PIN codes are checked at checkout like any other, and the message shown there is the timing we stand behind. We do not promise a day for Delhi. A perishable box needs someone to receive it, so choose an address where a person will be present on a working day, such as an office reception or a home with a resident. Shipping is shown at checkout; see shipping charges guide.
Damaged fruit should be reported within 24 hours of delivery to support@alphonsomango.in or 8369048029. Nearby cities are served the same way; we have separate notes on Noida and Gurgaon.
Season and ripening in Delhi weather
Alphonso is harvested about February to June, with the best supply from March to May. The 2027 season opens on 1 February 2027. Fresh Hapus is not sold outside the season. Delhi gets very hot by May and dry before the monsoon, which affects how a box behaves on your balcony or table.

We do not use carbide. Our Alphonso mangoes are ripened naturally on hay beds. Calcium carbide is prohibited for ripening fruit in India under Regulation 2.3.5 of the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011. We are an FSSAI-licensed seller. Fruit is hand-harvested with a zela pole fitted with a catching net, and harvest to ripening takes about 15 days, so some fruit may be firm on arrival.
- Lay the fruit in one layer in the coolest room, out of direct sun. In Delhi's heat, a hot balcony will over-ripen it in a day.
- Do not put firm fruit in the fridge. Cold stops ripening and dulls scent.
- Check every morning; a sweet smell at the stalk and slight give mean ripe.
- If many ripen together, make aamras and freeze it in portions. Our aamras recipe has quantities.
The bucket-of-water test is a rough clue, not proof, of how a mango was ripened. Ask any seller directly. For the full method, see ripening Alphonso at home.
Prices, mandis and where else to read
Delhi buyers often start with the Azadpur mandi rate or a price chart. Mandi rates are wholesale and change through the day; they are not what a courier-delivered, graded dozen costs. We have separate pages on the Azadpur mandi mango rate and mango price in Delhi, and for festivals there is mango festival in Delhi.

Choosing a size and quantity for a Delhi household
The first decision is how much fruit you can eat while it is at its best. Ripe Alphonso keeps for a few days at room temperature, not weeks, so order for the days you will actually eat it.
- A small family or a couple: one dozen is usually enough for the first week. Eat a few plain, then use the soft ones for aamras.
- A joint family or a festival table: two dozens, ideally ordered together so the fruit ripens at a similar pace, or one box for yourself and one for relatives.
- Office or gifting: choose a grade with larger fruit, and give the receiver an address and a contact number. Fresh fruit cannot wait at a reception desk for days.
- Cooking and desserts: if you mainly want pulp for kulfi or shakes, a pulp tin is easier than fresh fruit, and it keeps through the year.
Grades differ by fruit size, and a bigger grade costs more per dozen. We keep the choices on the product page so you can see them before you pay. If you are unsure, write to us at support@alphonsomango.in with your household size and we will tell you what we would pick.
