Buy Mango Online — Kanpur

Kanpur's summer hits hard — 44°C afternoons, long power cuts, and the relentless hunt for fruit that actually tastes like something. Local market Alphonso is often carbide-ripened, picked green, and trucked from cold stores. What reaches you has little in common with a Hapus ripened on hay in a temperature-controlled room in Mumbai, 48–72 hours after harvest in Ratnagiri.

We dispatch to Kanpur pin codes via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees. Orders placed before 12 noon IST (Monday to Saturday) are dispatched the same day. Delivery takes 1 to 3 days for most PIN codes and 1 to 2 days to most metros, depending on your PIN code. Fresh mangoes are delivered by Blue Dart to more than 4,700 PIN codes. The fruit ships at 70–80% ripeness, firm enough for transit, and ripens fully within about three days of delivery.

Ratnagiri vs Devgad: Which to Order?

Both carry GI No. 139. The difference is real — Prashant Powle tracks Brix readings from individual orchards across both districts every season, and Devgad fruit from villages like Jamsande and Kunkeshwar consistently sits at the upper end of the 18–24° Brix range. Ratnagiri fruit from Pawas and Nachane tends toward a sharper, more aromatic profile. Our repeat-order data from 47,000+ customers shows north India leans Ratnagiri; Mumbai leans Devgad. Order both if it's your first season.

Delivery Across India

Harvest to dispatch takes 48–72 hours. Here is what happens in that window: fruit is hand-picked in Ratnagiri or Devgad using a Nutan/Zela pole with a catching net — the tree is never shaken, the fruit never falls. Within two hours it is at our packhouse for post-harvest cooling. An air-conditioned vehicle moves it to Mumbai over 10–12 hours. At the Mumbai packhouse it goes through AI/ML-assisted machine scanning for internal defects (spongy tissue) and surface deformities, then into a hay bed for 24–48 hours of natural ripening. Then it is packed and dispatched.

Each mango sits in a foam-net sleeve (flat width 50–55 mm) inside a 12-slot partition inside a 5-ply corrugated fibreboard box. The box carries transit pressure; the fruit does not. Six air holes top and bottom keep the hay bed breathing.

Courier is BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees — assigned by your pin code at checkout.

Where These Mangoes Come From

Online aam delivery in Kanpur — Alphonso from Konkan villages

We source from 48 coastal villages of Ratnagiri and Devgad — places like Pawas, Golap and Nachane in Ratnagiri taluka, and Devgad, Jamsande and Vijaydurg in Devgad taluka (Sindhudurg). Our 100+ partner farmer families manage orchards typically 12–25 years old, selected for Brix consistency and alternate-bearing management. Prashant Powle visits orchards before each season to verify the crop. Every fruit is weighed, graded and scanned before it leaves our packing centres in Malvan and Devgad.

APEDA authorised (225579), FSSAI licensed (10020022011783), and independently tested for pesticide residues by Envirocare Labs Pvt. Ltd. (NABL accredited, Thane, certificate TC-8284, report 01/ETHAP2500044, 5 April 2025) — all 28 residues within Codex maximum residue limits, 27 of 28 below the limit of quantification. One residue, thiamethoxam, was detected at 0.013 mg/kg against a Codex limit of 0.2 mg/kg.

How to Confirm a Mango Is Genuinely GI-Tagged

GI No. 139 covers Alphonso grown in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. An authorised user holds a certificate from the GI Registry — ours is Certificate No. 4163, issued 16 October 2019, user number AU/5974/GI/139/260. If a seller cannot quote that number, the GI claim is unverifiable. We can.

How the Fruit Ripens

No carbide. No ethylene chambers. No cold-store blending from the previous season's stock.

At the Mumbai packhouse, mangoes rest on a hay bed — the traditional Aadi method — in temperature-controlled rooms for 24–48 hours. This is monitored natural ripening, not gas-triggered. The fruit ships at 70–80% ripeness and completes the process in your home over about three days. That window is what makes the skin turn gold and the Brix peak between 18 and 24°. You eat it at exactly the right moment.

Carbide-ripened fruit looks similar on the outside. Inside, the texture is uneven — soft patches beside hard flesh — and the sour top notes never resolve into the saffron-and-honey finish that Hapus is named for.

Mango Season and Availability

Alphonso season runs February to June, with the best volumes and flavour in March to May. We do not sell fresh Alphonso between July and January. If you visit the site outside season, you will not find fresh fruit listed — that is not an error.

Kesar mango (GI No. 185, Gir region) is available on the site during the overlapping summer season. Cashews, dates and other dry fruits are available year-round.

The 2027 mango season starts on 1 February 2027, and fresh mangoes are out of stock until then.

Nutrition in Brief

Ripe Alphonso pulp contains roughly 30–36 mg of vitamin C per 100 g. A 100 g serving covers about 40–45% of the ICMR-NIN 2020 recommended daily intake for adult men (80 mg/day) and about 50% for adult women (65 mg/day). Beyond vitamin C, the pulp contains mangiferin — a polyphenol studied by Govindappa et al. (2011) for anti-inflammatory activity in cell models.

Alphonso purée works as a first fruit for babies from around six months — keep it as a serving suggestion, not medical advice, and check with your paediatrician.

People Also Ask

Which mango is famous in Uttar Pradesh?

Dussehri from Malihabad, Lucknow is the most famous mango grown inside Uttar Pradesh — it holds its own GI tag. But Kanpur households also prize Alphonso (Hapus) from Ratnagiri and Devgad, ordered online during the February–June season, because no UP variety matches Alphonso's 18–24° Brix sweetness and dense, fibre-free pulp.

What is the price of mangoes in Kanpur?

Alphonso mango prices vary by grade, origin and seller. GI-tagged Ratnagiri or Devgad Alphonso ordered online typically costs more than local market fruit because it is hand-harvested, AI/ML scanned for defects, hay-bed ripened without carbide, and dispatched in a 5-ply courier-grade box within 48–72 hours of harvest. Local Kanpur market prices depend on variety and season.

Who is the mango city of India?

Lucknow is widely called India's mango city, driven by its Dussehri orchards in nearby Malihabad and a centuries-old culture of named cultivars. Ratnagiri in Maharashtra, though not labelled a mango city, is the origin district for GI-tagged Alphonso — the variety considered the most prized by export markets and premium buyers across India.

What is the richest mango in India?

Alphonso (Hapus) from Ratnagiri and Devgad is widely regarded as India's richest mango — Brix readings of 18–24° at full ripeness, fibre-free pulp, and a flavour dense enough that a single fruit at 150–275 g carries more aroma than most varieties twice its size. It holds GI Tag No. 139, covering Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts.
