AlphonsoMango.in is India's GI-certified mango website, run by Powle Home Foods (GI No. 139, AU/5974/GI/139/260), sourcing Alphonso from 55 villages across Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. Fruit ships February to June, reaching most Indian cities in 1–3 days via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees.

AlphonsoMango.in sells more than just mangoes. Year-round, you can pick up seeds, dry fruits and other Konkan pantry staples — all dispatched from the same supply chain that handles 47,000+ mango customers. Two products available right now:
During mango season (February to June), the Alphonso and Kesar mango listings go live on the same site. Off-season, these seeds and dry fruits keep the pantry stocked from the same verified supply chain.
Commercial Comparison: Ratnagiri vs Devgad Alphonso
Both varieties hold GI No. 139. The difference comes down to where the trees grow, how old they are, and what the Brix reads at the packhouse.

We assumed Devgad always commanded a higher Brix than Ratnagiri across the board. The grading data from our packhouses showed the gap varies by week and by tree age — late-April Devgad from Jamsande and Dahibav villages consistently reads at the upper end of 18–24°, but early-March Ratnagiri from Pawas can match it.
Delivery Across India
Every box travels from harvest to dispatch in 48–72 hours. The fruit is hand-picked from trees in villages like Girye (Devgad taluka) or Nachane (Ratnagiri taluka), moved to our Malvan packing centre or Devgad packing point within about two hours of harvest, cooled, then transported by air-conditioned vehicle to the Mumbai packhouse. There, the mangoes rest on hay beds for 24–48 hours of natural ripening before dispatch.
Courier allocation by pin code: BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees. Metro cities — Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune — receive fruit in 20–24 hours from dispatch. Most other Indian cities get delivery in 1–3 days. We cover 15,000–17,000 serviceable pin codes.
Packaging: a 5-ply corrugated fibreboard box (130 gsm, alternate flute orientation, reinforced corners), a 12-slot partition that takes transit pressure instead of the fruit, six air holes for airflow, and every mango in its own foam-net sleeve (flat width 50–55 mm) on a hay bed. The foam net prevents lenticel blackening from skin friction — something that ruins the look of an Alphonso fast.
One honest limit: we do not dispatch fresh Alphonso between July and January. If you land on this site in October, the mango listings are off-season. Order the seeds, cashews or dates instead, and sign up for the season alert.
How to Order
- Select your product: Choose from flax seeds (₹180–₹350) or roasted pumpkin seeds (₹200–₹750) now, or browse the Alphonso and Kesar mango listings when the season opens in February.
- Add to cart: Review your selection — quantity, variant — then proceed to checkout. The wishlist saves any out-of-stock item so you are notified when it returns.
- Dispatch: Orders go out via BlueDart, Delhivery, Ekart or XpressBees depending on your pin code, reaching most Indian cities in 1–3 days. You get a tracking notification at dispatch.
Where the Mangoes Come From
Prashant Powle built the sourcing network starting in 2017. By the time Powle Home Foods registered in July 2019, the supply chain covered orchards in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. Today we source from 55 named villages — 48+ is what the site says, and the full list runs from Pawas and Golap in Ratnagiri taluka to Devgad, Jamsande, Vijaydurg and Kunkeshwar in Devgad taluka, plus coastal villages in Malvan and Vengurla talukas.
Our 100+ partner farmer families work orchards that are typically 12–25 years old, selected on Brix consistency, tree longevity and how they manage alternate-bearing years. The orchards face the sea — that coastal air and laterite soil combination is the reason Alphonso from this belt tastes different from fruit grown inland.
How the Fruit Is Picked
The tree is never shaken. Each fruit is cut using a Nutan or Zela pole fitted with a catching net and cutting mechanism so the mango never falls to the ground. For tall trees, an indigenously developed length-extending pole with a camera lets the picker see the stem before cutting. Bruising at harvest is the fastest route to spongy tissue at delivery — this is why the pole method is non-negotiable for us.
Pesticide Residue Testing
We test weekly through the season at Envirocare Labs Pvt. Ltd., Thane — NABL accredited, certificate TC-8284. The April 2025 report (01/ETHAP2500044, issued 5 April 2025) checked 28 residues. All 28 were within Codex maximum residue limits. Twenty-seven of the 28 were below the limit of quantification at 0.01 mg/kg. One residue — thiamethoxam — read 0.013 mg/kg against a permitted limit of 0.2 mg/kg. We say "independently tested, all residues within Codex limits." We do not say pesticide-free, because one residue was detected, within limits.
How We Ripen the Fruit
Natural hay-bed (Aadi) ripening only, in temperature-controlled rooms. No ethylene chambers. No calcium carbide. No artificial ripening agents of any kind. The 24–48 hours at the Mumbai packhouse is ripening on hay, monitored, not gas-triggered.
Fruit leaves for your address at 70–80% ripeness — firm enough for transit, fully ripe within about three days of delivery. That window is intentional. A mango that arrives at 100% ripeness will be bruised by transit. One that arrives at 70% gives you three days of eating at peak flavour.
Every mango is also weighed and graded before packing. AI/ML-assisted machine scanning checks each fruit for internal defects (including spongy tissue) and external deformities. If a mango fails the scan, it does not go into a box. This step, combined with the foam-net sleeve, is why our damage replacement rate is low enough that we can offer 100% replacement with photo evidence within 24 hours of delivery.
How to Verify Authenticity
The GI Registry issued Certificate No. 4163 on 16 October 2019, covering Alphonso mangoes under GI No. 139. Powle Home Foods holds Authorised User number AU/5974/GI/139/260 for Ratnagiri Alphonso and AU/6932 for Devgad Alphonso. That number is the only proof that the seller is a verified GI user — not a logo, not a sticker, not a claim in product copy.
We also hold FSSAI licence 10020022011783 and APEDA registration 225579, which is required for export. The fruit we ship to the US, UK, UAE, Singapore and Japan clears the same residue checks as what we send to Mumbai.
Prashant Powle was interviewed by The Economic Times in June 2026 on the existential pressure facing Alphonso from weather and yield disruptions. The article names him as a GI-certified Alphonso grower and trader. That independent press verification is something no counterfeit seller can manufacture.
Nutrition in a Ripe Alphonso
Ripe Alphonso pulp contains roughly 30–36 mg of vitamin C per 100 g. A 100 g serving meets about 40–45% of the ICMR-NIN 2020 recommended daily intake for adult men (80 mg/day) and about 50% for adult women (65 mg/day). Mangiferin, a polyphenol found in the pulp, showed anti-inflammatory activity in cell studies (Govindappa et al., 2011). The fruit is also a source of vitamins A and fibre.
Alphonso puree is suitable as a first food for babies from about six months — keep it as a serving suggestion and check with your paediatrician before introducing any new food.
When Is Mango Season?
Season runs February to June, with peak availability in March, April and May. We do not sell fresh Alphonso at any other time of year. If you are reading this in August or November, bookmark the site and come back in February. Aamras, mango pulp and other processed mango products are available longer, but fresh fruit is strictly seasonal — that is what keeps the Brix at 18–24° instead of the flat, vapid sweetness you get from cold-stored fruit blended with off-season stock.
Repeat-order data from our 47,000+ customers shows a 46% reorder rate, with customers averaging 2.8 boxes per season. Eighteen percent of orders are gifts. Both numbers climb in April and May when Devgad fruit from villages like Waghotan and Kunkeshwar is at full flavour.
